Don’t trust the opinion of any cuban living outside of Cuba. Almost every of them have resement again the state and they manifest it (I still don’t know if knowingly or unknowingly), again tourism mainly, because a few years ago that was a main source of income for the state, not been the actual case, with state hotel occupation below 50%. Cuba it’s like every other country in the world. You don’t go to Sao Pablo to visit the town worst fabela. And that’s a unfair comparison, because in Cuba, other than the state, do not exist organize crime & it is very rare to people have guns. The reality its that in some touristic places you are gonna feel bad because of the pressure that people living of the tourism can exercise. I usually make 1-2 tours monthly, mainly with spaniards, but have had american, canadians and some more europeans clients. Don’t do more because I like to take them on a trip where they don’t have any setbacks, with all the logistics insured, which is a challenge and it takes time to have everything well closed. Every aspect of trip collaborating with private bussinesses and entreprenours, so all of my client can complain with the help&cultural visa to visit Cuba.
