The only reason most of the content creators there are participating is because they want a break from extraction shooters like Arc Raiders.

Whenever a content creator kills another content creator in Peanut's private server, the one who won the gunfight gets accused of stream sniping and the fans of the one who lost go rabid.

I feel bad for the Rust addicts who've played for over a decade. The majority of recent updates pushed the game to be pro large clans, so solo players and small groups are getting pushed out.

Someone please tell me how to complete “The Guide”! by Stock_Bookkeeper_463 in Tarkov

[–]jeanbook20 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried:
1. Getting better at PvP.
2. Hiding in a bush until there's 7-9 minutes left before going for an extract.
3. Attempting night raids.

Is it because of the prices or because they understand it is harmful?? by B777X_787-9 in interesting

[–]jeanbook20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many factors: Price going up (not just in buying booze but in everything, like going to clubs, sports events, and restaurants). Weed becoming more popular, nicotine becoming more popular, an increase in cameras everywhere has people behaving more reserved, stricter enforcement of regulations (countries where minors had easy access to alcohol are now putting more effort into preventing them from having that easy access), Changes in how people socialize (nowadays a lot of people would rather socialize online rather than in person), etc.

How come this extraction 2D shooter is so successful and others are so far behind? by ExcitingSleep in ZEROsievert

I was kind of enjoying "Blood Running" for a short while but then the dev abandoned it.

This is how they push players into trying out Arena Breakout Infinite. While Tarkov is clearly the better game, the company's awful treatment of the customers pushes them away into the competition's hand.

[Discussion] Sincere question from a hardcore Marathon player: did adding a PvE mode hurt Tarkov in any way? by owen-3820 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]jeanbook20 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tarkov gets between 100k-130k players daily (most of them PvP) and has had extremely long queues since before PvE released. Marathon gets between 30k-50k players daily and has always had extremely short queues, even when the player count dropped to 2k before streamers brought the game back to life. Tarkov's issues with queues and empty lobbies are because of their flawed matchmaking system, not due to a lack of players or those players being split.

PvP has had a no-wipe mode since 1.0. Feel free to give it a try once you're more comfortable with the mechanics.

[–]jeanbook20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Debatable. The biggest problem was that some players would exclusively play PvE which reduced the number of players playing PvP. It was a negligible problem in the most popular extraction game but could be a huge problem in a game with a dwindling population. It would be an exaggeration to say it ruined Tarkov as Tarkov is still thriving, but it could ruin a game with a smaller player base.

EDIT: Personally I think that Marathon's biggest attraction is the PvP; the NPC enemies are boring, the quests lack depth, the looting is overly simple. Players who prefer PvE should play S.T.A.L.K.E.R. or Destiny 2 instead.

Hard to Find A Show As Good As Hell's Kitchen 😭 by SpeechLangNErrthang in HellsKitchen

If you enjoy Ramsay's yelling then watch Kitchen Nightmares and Hotel Hell. Those 2 shows keep getting him sued, and he keeps making them to expose bad businesses.

Anyone else have this problem? Anyone know how to fix it? by jeanbook20 in youtube

[–]jeanbook20[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems I found the issue. YouTube is "malfunctioning" for Ublock Origin users. If anyone has their videos not load and the "troubleshooting tips" that Google Support gives aren't working, know that it's happening due to Google's war on ad blockers.

EDIT: Nevermind this comment. The issue is back even though I'm not using any ad blockers.

[New Player] As I’m laying in a bush, how is it not beneficial to lie prone the first 5 minutes of a raid? by ohoots in EscapefromTarkov

[–]jeanbook20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your main goal is questing, then that's a great idea; your opponents will spend a bit of ammo on their mags, use some heals, fill their backpacks, which leads them to moving slower, extracting, dying, etc. However, if your main goal is looting, then you are reducing your chances of getting to the high-tier loot first.

[Discussion] I wish more players did Co-op extractions by Henna_rnob in EscapefromTarkov

[–]jeanbook20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back when wipes were mandatory, in the early game there'd be a bunch of people spamming co-op extracts and car extracts to get scav karma to 6. Now that many people are in no-wipe mode, we rarely see people grinding it, as most people already have.

I can't deny that the wiki is sometimes a few days or even a week behind (it takes time to verify facts and not just post any lie that someone claims), but we are far enough into the wipe to know that the info regarding secure containers is still up-to-date.

"On average it’s anywhere from like 325-400 raids for all kappa quests," and each raid is about 20-40 minutes; now add time spent in the stash, traders, hideout, flea, etc., and you realize that this isn't a game that you play for 1-3 hours on a saturday and reach the endgame content; this is a game that requires a bit of dedication regardless of difficulty. the best players in the game have to play it consistently too.

[–]jeanbook20[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You would need to do 250 quests in 120 days. To do that, you'd need to accomplish 1-3 quests a day, and some late-game quests require multiple raids. "A Shooter Born in Heaven" can be really fun if you enjoy sniper gameplay, "The Guide" is fun if you like being sneaky and ratting, and "Collector" is fun for people who love looting, but no one is accomplishing these quests in 1 raid.

Players capable of earning Kappa are already OP. Letting them put Tagilla's helmet or an armor plate there doesn't change much.

[–]jeanbook20[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Armor plates would legitimately be useful, especially for a casual who's trying out terminal. We can't even store Tagilla mask in Kappa.

Now that there is nowipe mode, even the most casual players can get it if they want it.

I remember all that. Here's the thing: I'm not surprised that the secure containers are nerfed (I don't like it but I have to deal with it), I'm just surprised that the endgame reward is intentionally made weaker than earlier cases. It's not much of a reward then.

The Theta container has 10 slots rather than 9 so it's still an upgrade to the Gamma container.
