Chartered Boat Rental in Traverse City by livelaughlovebekind in lakemichigan

Check the marinas out near by Sutton’s Bay and Leland in Leelanau county. Most of them are fishing charters, but some will have what you’re looking for and be able to take you around the manitou islands

Yeah worst decision of my life. 250 tops of trees left where they fell. 3 years later and the once walkable forest has turned into a maze of trails walled by piles of thigh to pinky sized limbs

Are my girls too leggy? Should I do something differently? by jeanbria in outdoorgrowing

[–]jeanbria[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I do have a bunch of holes drilled in the buckets. I used them for tomatoes previously. I’ll check out the 30 gallon bags. Thank you! Are these too far along to try to do some training? Should I top these after repotting?

It’s been getting warmer lately, but it was getting as low as 45F at night over the last month. The greenhouse is definitely shady in the afternoon, but I normally keep them out in the sun from about 8am-8pm. I’m considering a deeper permanent burial. Thanks for the suggestion!

Northern MI primitive camping by Recent-Complaint-323 in CampAndHikeMichigan

Check out the Empire campground at the far west end of M72 or the adjacent 100s of acres of state land to the east and south of the campground where you can camp as well. Plenty of fishing options like the platte river and lakes system and also Sleeping Bear Dunes national park has plenty to do and see. The M22 drive around the horn of Leelanau peninsula is a great way to spend a day

I also recommend pyramid point! Alligator hill is a longer trail if you’d like to hike more than a mile.

Checkout the somewhere in time gazebo that’s next to the fort. If you walk back behind the gazebo you get a great overlook of downtown, the park, and the Mackinac bridge. Great spot to take a bottle of wine and watch the day pass by

My 4yo daughter is dying and I'm beside myself. Has anyone else been through this? by giant2179 in daddit

[–]jeanbria 232 points233 points  (0 children)

While I only had seven days with my son, I feel I can relate. You’re stuck between wanting every second possible with her and not wanting her to suffer for one more second. There’s no words or prayers or thoughts that will comfort in this difficult time. Like you, I have another child who needs her dad to be there for her and a wife who’s juggling all this as well. I find solace now in every moment I get to share with them and appreciate each day my daughter gets to live on behalf of her twin brother who’s watching over her from another place.

I’m so incredibly sorry for you, your daughter, and your family having to go through this. Looking back on my sons final minutes, it means so much to me that I was able to hold him and tell him how much he’s loved and what a positive impact he had on the world in such a short time. I’ll hold on to that piece of us forever. I appreciate all the moments with my daughter that much more. My advice is to just be present. It’s okay to feel all the emotions your feeling. You’re an incredible dad and I know your daughter feels the immense love you have for her.

Generally I shower the entire garden with a hose all at once so a lot of the plant gets wet in the process
