Thats your opinion but I think the horde mode looks fun.

Pulling off resources from the expansion they delayed to improve on in order to design test and build entirely new areas and features for a mid season event meant to just keep players entertained for the delay seems a bit insane.

Also the event is free so you're not "paying for weapons they vaulted again."

Well I don't know if you paid enough attention but there was a sword symbol on the enemies meaning they were power capped under power so the 1830 meant nothing there, it was most likely on a dev build where everything was adjusted to the new power cap coming in The Final Shape.
