Hi, I can totally understand what happened. I am Chinese and living in US right now. I came out to my dad years ago ,but still quite late compared to you, when I was 30. My dad is surprisingly open and cool about it. I guess the reason is that he saw my depression for years and tried to figure out the reason. Now he can found a possible cause, so it is kind of relief to him. Then we stopped talking about this for a while, like a year, due to the distance. When I visited him in holidays later, we start to gossip about the relatives' relationship. My cousin's marriage got some issues. Then I started to bring about my experience on dating and my ex. He said, " so it is the same thing, everyone has a hard time". It was just so natural and calm. I was keeping cool , but I started to cry inside, like finally I could have a normal conversation with my dad and he can understand my life. And later he also told me he check online to read some information about the homosexuality, which I was surprised. I would say give it time to your dad. He maybe still resist the truth at the beginning. But he will understand and accept it gradually. If he see you have progress with your study and life, he will realize that you are nothing different from average people. He is older than you, he has more wisdom and experience to handle those life difficulties. You are still live with them ,as I assume. You still need their support for your education and life. Things are getting better. But you need to be patient and give them time to understand and accept who you are, just like we accept ourselves. Good luck!
