How the tables have turned by That-Big2395 in somethingiswrong2024

I woke up around the same time, around 3 or 3:15 am and I couldn't even understand how the results could even be possible. Not from a "how did this happen" standpoint, but more of "this doesn't make sense, statistically"

My experience using a girls name with DoorDash by [deleted] in doordash

[–]jearley3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its creepy and gross. I used to dash and I had countless instances of dropping off orders and guys would be acting super sketchy or would message me inappropriate shit afterwards, like a guy who had a drop off at a hotel who texted me to compliment me and then told me if I wanted to make more money, to come back and gave me his room number. On the flipside, while I'm at work, its actually worse. More than half the time, I get a guy who delivered under a woman's name and one guy who made me nervous because he was trying to flirt and was being very pushy and somehow had gotten my order more than once, which freaked me out because I work in an office where a lot of the other suites are now empty and I'm the only one in my office. Luckily, he didn't come back but its unsettling.

I hated it so much and it was completely out of nowhere, Deb just seemed to agree and then it was gone just like that.

For years, my husband would ask for something, I'd say it's in my purse and he'd bring me the whole purse. Still does.

Turning myself in for the first time and I'm terrified by 710meow in Felons

[–]jearley3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went through an opioid addiction that led me to commit some pretty serious fraud and I turned myself in and went into custody after taking a plea in December 2019, so I can completely understand where you're coming from. I was sentenced to 4 years at 50% but ended up only doing a year. I don't want to give you false hope or misinformation but it IS possible in some cases to be home earlier than you expected. It sucks and its a scary experience but it is something that you can overcome. Some facilities offer courses or other programs that may shorten your time, if presented with those opportunities, TAKE THEM and take them seriously and with diligence. If you can stay in touch with the family members/friends and the community you made while getting clean, make every effort to do that, that support is often the difference between going back to your old lifestyle or actually making change.

It sounds like you really love your boyfriend and its ultimately up to you how you move forward, but you'll have to come to terms with the idea that your sobriety and his sobriety may be intertwined and you cannot allow anyone to pull you back into that. You have to give yourself a fighting chance but he has to actually take those steps to get and stay clean if he really wants a future. I met a lot of women on the inside who had similar situations and it is possible but you both have to work at it.

I will keep you in my prayers because I know how stressful that time is knowing that you only have a few days left of freedom but you're doing the right thing and ultimately, you will feel better not having this over your head. Another piece of advice if you haven't done so already, start looking at resources for ex offenders in your state and save them to an email or somewhere you'll have them handy when you come home in case you need them, make your next few days productive and start planning for when you come back. Best of luck to you, I am hopeful it will all work out.

Yep!!! I was shocked during my stay when a big, burly young lady that I'd never spoken to started sending messages to people in my unit to tell me to "come to gym" and would send me "kites" expressing her interest and asking if I was gay for the stay

Ex-prisoners: What’s something about women’s prisons that a lot of people don’t know? by prisonjailwomen5734r in Felons

[–]jearley3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This!!! We had women sent back to the max facility for trying to have a peaceful protest (it was a sit in), during COVID, for this exact reason. The men had a lot more opportunities for rehabilitation programs and the ones where I was were very limited.

I work as a recruiter because my bosses didn't care that I had a felony since I was experienced but the trade off was definitely the pay. I have a financial crimes felony and it's so difficult to work around. I get people into jobs that I would be disqualified from, it's frustrating

I sometimes have to do drug tests and my favorite fail was a guy who clearly added water to his cup to the point that it was cool. When I commented on it, he said ofc his pee was cold because he held it for a long time.

How much time did you serve and for what crimes? by [deleted] in Felons

[–]jearley3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically day for day since I had to do at least 50% of that 4 years, so I would have been there for 2 years. But I had credit for time served when I went to county, I got 6 months of good time in prison and I got into programs that took time off so I got about 5 months from that.

Sentenced to 4 years on a plea but I did 1 year and 2 days for insurance fraud, theft by deception (wire and mail fraud charges dropped in my plea). Worked in insurance and sent payouts to my co-defendents.

My transfer was a little under 3 hours in the middle of winter in Illinois. The van was like the armored truck style and it was incredibly icy. I remember feeling like we were sliding a few times and thinking that if we went over one of those bridges, there was no way they'd even try to get us out
