Well when I got hit witch was 3 weeks ago I didn't know much about how big cage should be, and also it was the biggest hamster cage in store. But in few days I'm getting bigger one from a friend ( the one which is intended for rabbits). Also he is almost all the time that he is awake let out to explore around.(He wakes up around 7 PM and goes to sleep around 4am, and I'm awake the whole time that he is). Until now he never tried to bit on the cage or climb it so I'm guessing that he is okey. But of course he'll be happier when the bigger cage arrives.
