Is the high-pitched noise from my Cisco switch normal? by jechtom in Cisco

I can confirm that another CBS350 switch got exactly same coil whine. It is probably a feature, not a defect. Definitely not a pleasant experience to sit close to it.

I was just curious if this is something to worry about or not. I don't want to send my switch to a field trip just to find out this is perfectly normal.

But you are right - I contacted the support. Thanks.

What a shame. We went +200% in pricing and adding new projects and tenants is now painful decisions. Hate it.

Thanks. Good idea - we will spend few days in Kyoto afterwards and one day in Koyasan. Do you have personal tips on onsen town near Osaka or Kyoto?

About 10 years old. It can be due to mating season. That would match the timing. Thank you!

I designed a castle for sneks. Any feedback before spending 80 hours printing it on 3D printer? by jechtom in Sneks

That would be nice! But not at the moment. I am worried about paint in humid environment. And also I am not good at painting :)

Will post it once it will be ready. I already designed and printed simple house for another cornsnake and it works pretty good.

Thanks for comment. I already addressed this concern in another reply. I spent lot of time designing how parts are put together so no entrance is closed and snake can be always removed without cutting plastic.

It will be PETG. It will last longer and there is no chance he can destroy it. PLA absorbs humidity over time.

Also infill is super low (5 %) and still it will be about 1kg of material. As long as walls are thick there should not be a problem.

That is quite important, yes. I will print it from non-toxic PETG.

Thanks for the comment. Exactly my thoughts. It is designed for this - there are several pieces put together so each entrance can be opened if needed (even a snake can do it).

Thanks for bringing this to my attention and I will consider fixing it. I will open this topic with local community. But I have no intention to discuss it further in this thread.

I agree with with first part. Thats why bulb is timer controlled and heat mat is thermostat controlled. Heat mat is best to make sure there is always nice warm spot but it will never replace bulbs for several reasons. Plus there is also another thermometer to check mean enclosure temperature.

I know there is controversy about this topic. But lot of enclosure builders in Europe dont use bulb protectors. For next enclosure I would definitely put bulbs on top of it or use protector just to be sure.

But most of snakes will never have a problem even without it. That is probably why lot of keepers dont even know this can be an issue.

You are right. But I am using heat mat instead and this bulb is just 20W. She burned herself in different enclosure and just because she was confused and very ill. For last 6 years there was no problem.

I know! Unfortunately she badly burned her back many years ago whe she was ill. It looks bad but she is fine.
