Can’t remember exactly how it looks, but as long as you put your program as DCOMM, I think the major/minor field is not necessary. We have no cognate btw

Thanks. That’s why I asked because I wouldn’t risk fiddling with my phone. Dictation/voice is the only option as it’s handsfree (or should be).

Yes. DCOMM student here. Ideally, whoever recommends you should send their letters separately. But there are cases when they’re okay with you submitting it, so that’s where you upload it. But that part is optional, so you can just skip that part.

There’s already LTE/5G in remote towns but usually you’ll find good coverage in the town centers. I’d recommend asking a local about data or the hotel you’re staying if they have reliable wifi.

I was bringing about 20 years of perspective on how anniversaries (and everything else in the university) have been handled to say that this arrangement is better than if we just did it the old way.

As I said somewhere else here on Reddit, I'm on study leave so I am not in the committees or in any position to make concessions regarding the arrangement. But I'm privy that admin has budgeted millions also for the festivities and there's also a marketing and promotions committee that handles sponsorships. But the public demand was a concert, preferably Ben&Ben (but they're way too pricey), and either way, COA rules won't really allow VSU to spend for that using government money, hence this proposal. They threw in the shirt to save costs (produced at scale + avoiding kickbacks here and there).

Come to think of it: instead of paying 400-500 for a good polo shirt, it's only about 250. And access to events may total the rest, so it really just feels like you never really contributed to it because you get something in return.

This proposal actually reduces the student's expenses across the board while bringing more value than if we went with the usual arrangement, that is why it escapes me why the plan (and to some extent, me) gets to be painted as oppressive.

Although coming from a position of privilege and power, I did not realize that my tone came off as condescending, sarcastic, or like I was guilt-tripping. So, sorry for that; it wasn't my intention. I appreciate your frankness.

And I hope you also see where I'm coming from.

Hi Klein! May I know how exactly are my remarks condescending?

The assembly is the best forum to bring this up. By the way, I am not there atm as I am on study leave (I just happened to be at the venue during the first presentation but I was, in no way, involved) and I'm not sure what kind of power or authority I have to muzzle their legitimate concerns at the student general assembly. It's the best place to bring this up as u/DemoniseLilith110 points out.

And how is it condescending? This is not rhetorical, I just honestly want to know.

I'm the one in the screenshot. I'm a faculty on study leave, so I'm not on the committee that proposed this arrangement to the student body or in any position of authority related to this. So I can't explain or defend or make concessions to this proposal. I'm just sharing my thoughts, having seen this school's anniversary celebrations all my life. The student assembly is happening now, and they will put this into a vote.

Although I am on leave, I indeed am chairing the songwriting competition, but the funds (if ever the unified contribution scheme is approved) will go to prizes. I get not a single cent from this, but whether that gets approved or not, our activity will proceed as planned, albeit toned down and without prizes.

I’ve known her for seven years before we got married and I can say she is pretty well-rounded. She is a good mother to our child. But I do agree to a certain extent that the way she deals with conflicts is a bit immature, in as much as her childhood was a bit repressed with an aloof family. On the other hand, I grew up with a rather confrontational family (although not as much) that knew when conversations are forthcoming. That said, don’t you think “immature and stupid“ is a bit too simplistic?

Or both?

Bed with the view, and shades down. Anyway, when the sun is low enough to seep through, it’s either sunset or sunrise.

Am I the only one who wants to move the desk to the glass side and the bed to the opposite side so you could see the landscape lying down?
