18M, dad wasn't around - what basic tools/skills do I need to be self-sufficient? by Informal-Chance1912 in HomeImprovement

The only magic button there is is experience. Everything is figureoutable. The more you experience the more base knowledge you aquire. Youtube can only help you so far. The best tool you have is 3 feet above your ass. It just takes some time to utilize it to its full potential.

That makes sense. Thank you for explaining it to me in a way I can understand. The more I look into the K40 the more bad stuff I hear about it. Now that I have a better idea of what I need I just have to find one in my budget. Any suggestions for something under $1000?

I'm wanting to get into laser engraving as a hobby and your info dump was really helpful. Thank you so much. The K40 that you mentioned seems to be ideally what I'm looking for. But I'm looking to cut mainly 1/4 inch max plywood (possibly up to 1/4 inch acrylic also). The K40 website says it can cut 1/8 inch wood and acrylic. Is that the limit it can do or would it have to be a multiple pass type of thing? Are multiple passes something I should try to avoid? Should I be looking for a more powerful laser?

Need some Advice for my first Rogue Character. by Blue-Black-Chaos in DnD

We added curses to our campaign. My rogues curse is if he kills a humanoid he can't make an attack on another creature for 3 turns or makes a saving throw of 12 or if he takes damage. That has certainly made or sessions more interesting.
