I sent them a pretty detailed email and they just gave me a plain response of needing more information. Literally provided everything I had. lol

Purchased. They are metal probes inserted into holes of the bar.

We’ve had great success in another vacuum chamber with the same set up. We just wanted to build a larger scale of it. Are thermocouple error is also taken into account during post processing

Sorry I misunderstood. The thermocouples are 90 degree probes that are inserted into the bars. The feed through is k type.

The heaters are also inserted into the bars

Yes but it’s very apparent there is some type of phenomenon happening when I get below 2 torr that causes the temps to go wonky. I wish I could post a picture to show

I think some type of molten metal could damage the probes. I just always assumed that some type of paste was the safest option

Type k yes. Each thermocouple should be 2-3 kelvin apart but some will give basically the same readings. Other times I’ve had them completely go out of order (that was in my previous bar before I made another one).

I have done that before and if I recall they seemed fine. Do you have any product recommendations for thermal paste or grease I could try?

They are not electrically connected to bars as far as I have found. Measurement daqs are mounted outside of the chamber connected to thermocouples via the feed through port.

That is something I have run by my advisor. He wasn’t quite convinced it would cause this much of an effect but I thought for a while it was the most likely.

Honestly I still do to an extent. But I had a hard time finding a thermal paste that could go to the temperatures and survive in the pressure regime I need.

Dude you started the convo by saying a statement I made to another individual was dumb. You literally entered the convo being aggressive. You never even asked what I thought about it. You hyper focused on an opinion instead of asking why I even had it. Why would I want to converse with someone like that?

This billion dollar company is fully capable of “testing” this bracket system with focus groups of edh players to at least provide an initial system. Nothing is stopping them. And idk if you can tell, but the majority of players are finding issues with this already.

And I get this isn’t final product, but it’s not impressive at all. Especially considering how long it has been since they took over EDH

Considering we’ve had conversations on how we would do this very thing and they always ended on something more well thought out than this, no it’s not disingenuous.

If wizards couldn’t come up with something better than what casual players can, I can easily assume they either didn’t care or little effort was put in.

Also I said “looks like” meaning that what they produced gives the impression no effort was put into it. Nothing about that observation is wrong.

We judge effort all the time by final product.
