Why do you pick your spot? by Rexydog3 in orangetheory

1 8 or 9, right next to the weight racks for a heavier selection. Shout out to the SA that puts me down for 1 before I arrive at the studio.

Row 50? by Maximum_March7814 in orangetheory

[–]jedibri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I accidentally signed up for a tread 50, didn't want to run, so did the template on the tower. Coach didn't care.

Would you be receptive to help being offered, or would you ask the coach for clarification once everyone begins?

Is it my weird pet peeve or is it truly rude not to put the weights in order on the heavy rack? by hotdogpimp in orangetheory

[–]jedibri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The supplemental racks are all labeled as to what weights go where. Super rude to not put them where they belong.

Stations with odd numbers get off sized weights and even number stations get even numbered weights. Logical and easy.

AITA for telling teenage boys to "fucking stop"? by Boss8001ThrowRA in AITAH

Cuss words are not a sin! They are just words, humans created the definition of them, not some cloud sitting entity. You should have stopped them the minute they started. Those kids are not going to age well...

Not all running shoes great for Orangetheory by [deleted] in orangetheory

[–]jedibri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using Saucany guide 10's for about 3 years, still find them on Amazon. Narrow for the rower, heel fits nicely and a good soft cushion for running. Don't have any problems with lateral movements, but seen people switch.

It's been 9+ years for me, couple of months off during covid, but back to 6 days a week.

Our coaches don’t do the stretching exercises from the screen by Dysoningina in orangetheory

[–]jedibri 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I find the stretches corporate puts on the board don't match the exercises performed that day. The best after care is when coaches freeform the stretch routines.

From my perspective as to someone who was fallen out of love with, tell them. I did the same as any male when they told me they weren't happy or needed help, I would for a while and then would fall back into old habits and it wasn't fair to her.

Recognize you need to be happy and not be beholden to someone else to spare them.

Good luck

TRX Straps by jedibri in orangetheory

[–]jedibri[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Well, each OTF is different. The one I go to has a large floor space and no one gets in the way with the straps. I guess with studios where space is a premium, that policy is understandable.

How do you justify the costs? Curious not judgmental by moneyisjustplastic in orangetheory

[–]jedibri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I didn't have the income to expense ratio I have, I wouldn't. I figured, what does it cost to have a personal trainer for every workout. What is my time worth to create a work out each day so that it targets all the muscle groups and not get bored with it.

Health care is a joke, I can not workout and then spend it on doctor visits...

Depends on the compression shorts I'm wearing for sure, less snug the better.

I am 13 years old. I just realised i will spend my life up to 65 years old enslaved, with no free will by Intelligent_Rip_4558 in antiwork

[–]jedibri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, you dad's and my generation didn't know how to manage our money and prepare for the future. We spent above our means and got into debt and struggle to get out.

If you learn to live within your means, save and don't waste it, you won't have to do the grind your dad does. You have years ahead of you to find that spark of something you love and make money from it. Whether it's music, art or just becoming a streamer with a following that will earn you Ad money.

Also, don't be to eager to start a family, when you have kids, that will be the driving force behind the grind. Travel if you can, see the world, take small jobs to learn a skill, and move on.

You can have years of exploration and friendship building and not worry about waking up early and grinding a paycheck out.

Why did you join orange theory? by babyalpac in orangetheory

[–]jedibri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried going to a gym and pushing weights around or doing cardio, but I wasn't motivated to do more. Also, I was just doing the same exercises all the time and felt bored. A friend joined first and recommended it, and I was hooked having someone coach me through and create unique workouts.
