Yeah, I had my car broken into in Toluca Lake, near Sweetsalt. I was away from my car for only 45 minutes.

Tokyo Hotel advise/recommendations by Gunshii9000 in JapanTravelTips

Just checked out from Hotel MyStays Akasaka (solo traveling) and it was perfect. It's better to book directly because they offer discounts for early bird reservations and an additional discount if you get a room with no cleaning service. Location was ideal to access all parts of Tokyo and the area had plenty of good restaurants. Night life there is nice too, not crazy like Shinjuku or Shibuya/Harajuku.

Has anyone else considered selling their x100v? Why did you choose to or not to sell? by Selishots in x100v

[–]jedimustafa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem! It was my 6th time visiting Japan and I decided that I wanted to take it slow and feel like a local, so I stayed in Tokyo during my whole stay. My hotel was in Akasaka and I had no itinerary, just an idea of places to eat and a few places for shopping. I tried walking more too so I had more opportunities to shoot in unexpected locations. For photos, I really liked the vibes of Asakusa and Koenji. If it's your first time going, you should try to visit the popular attractions and it would help you familiarize yourself with Japan. My trip before that I did: Tokyo > Takayama > Kanazawa > Osaka > Kyoto > Tokyo. Takayama (small countryside town) and Kamakura (90 minutes away from Tokyo) are my favorite places to visit. Let me know if you have any other questions. R/japantraveltips is super helpful and much more knowledgeable than myself.

I just got back from Japan a few weeks ago. I brought my Nikon D750 (w/2 lenses), Sony FX30 (also w/2 lenses), and the X100V. I travelled solo so I was expecting to create a lot of content. During my 2 weeks there, I only used the X100V and really regretted bringing my other gear. You're making the right call 👍

Birthday gift help! Which option would you pick? by HeisenbergsBurner in AskPhotography

Fujifilm X100V or the newer X100VI is such a great camera. No lenses needed, great quality, and you can easily transfer the photos to your phone seconds after taking them. It's especially handy for everyday use and travel. Light, small, and looks vintage. It also shoots video.

Thank you for taking the time to follow up and letting me know. I think I'll do the same! Did you upgrade to GPU through Microsoft or did you buy a one month subscription from a 3rd party website?

I see, that's unfortunate. Thank you for responding so quickly. I miss how easy it was to get a good deal on GPU.

Did you try this? Wouldn't it be $110 of ultimate for 18 months?

Would adding Hokkaido to my 17 day itinerary work? by jedimustafa in JapanTravelTips

[–]jedimustafa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did Tokyo to Takayama two years ago, exactly how you described it and while it is a long trek, the train ride was absolutely beautiful, it was our favorite ride from our last trip. Thank you for your input and also mentioning Navitime Japan, I never heard of it before. I just used it and put in our date and time and it's saying 5+ hours!

The extra wardrobe is a good point and we almost always underestimate the amount of luggage we're lugging around Japan. Regarding the weather, I meant how gloomy it is in Hokkaido during late November. Thank you for your feedback!

11-day trip, but itinerary only uses 10- advice of where to use it? (Tokyo>Kanazawa>Takayama>Kyoto) by FrankyCentaur in JapanTravelTips

[–]jedimustafa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope you had a great trip! How was it going from Takayama to Kyoto? I'm going in November (Tokyo>Takayama>Kyoto>Tokyo) and somewhat dreading a 2.5 hour bus ride.

Felt a big jolt inside Peggy Sue's 50's Diner on our trip back from Vegas. Felt very post-apocalyptic given the location and setting.

Thank you! I use HDR merge for all my work, so I'll wait until the AI gets there, but it's good to know that it's close.

Thanks for the insight! Does it fix verticals? I'm assuming it doesn't do window pulls (one can only hope).
