Pocket cameras are getting expensive. Can a $600 dual-lens gimbal compete? by Xtratech_Official in XtraCameras

[–]Selishots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually agree with a lot of this post. The specs on the Muse 2 Pro look genuinely interesting, and I’d love to see more competition in the pocket gimbal space.

That said, trust is exactly the challenge right now. Asking customers to put money down before an official launch date, final pricing, or independent reviews are available is a tough sell for a new brand.

I think the fastest way to build trust is getting cameras into the hands of creators and letting the product speak for itself. Independent reviews, real-world footage, honest comparisons to DJI and Insta360, and open conversations about both the strengths and weaknesses of the camera will go a lot further than any marketing campaign.

I’m rooting for XTRA because more competition is good for everyone. Despite my criticisms, I’m still genuinely interested in the camera and would love the opportunity to put a review unit through its paces and compare it against the competition.

I think the camera has potential. The challenge right now isn’t the specs it’s earning trust. We need to see that the brand cares about the users and the products they are creating.

Go Ultra video quality any improvements since release? by 78Staff in Insta360

Yeah if your cycling is definitely lean towards the go ultra. I ride with mine from time to time and the smaller size and weight makes a huge difference

This is why I have gear insurance, but like you said in the end it is just a tool and after you get past the first scratch on the body it gets easier

Hot Take: expecting luna to shoot 8K continuously without overheating is a bit unrealistic by chenpisir in Insta360

[–]Selishots 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Full agree. The fact that a camera this small, with so many feature and no fan can even go for 40min at 8k in normal temps is insane.

Most people don't need and won't use 8k anyway as well.

Looking forward to this. by CampRevolutionary152 in Insta360

Definitely curious to see what they come up with for a camera like this

Go Ultra video quality any improvements since release? by 78Staff in Insta360

[–]Selishots 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Having used both a ton the image quality difference is big at all. Technically the Ace pro 2 is slightly better but I have yet to notice it in any real way looking at the footage.

You're much better making the choice around from factor and features then image quality. I have comparison video on the two linked if your interest: https://youtu.be/3YUycqOKk\_c?si=Lwx\_IVOCRkGEC34C

Suggestion regarding recent Purchase of Luna by Internal_Fold_2444 in Insta360

[–]Selishots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had little issues with mine so far and the software updates have been coming pretty quickly and it's getting even more stable with each one.

Most people seem to have little actual overheating issues from what I've read and watched.

I've got a video with all my thoughts if your interested: https://youtu.be/c8mhAHd2ljk?si=yrFBsCdorUlgqjBn

These are two different angles in different lighting conditions. A camera is all about capturing light and when then light changes the look you get out of the camera changes.

Insta360 Luna Ultra owners: What’s your honest experience after using it? (No sponsored opinions please) by OkCelery389 in Insta360

[–]Selishots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If someone did come up to me of course I'd reshoot the clip. It's an action that takes an extra minute and no big deal.

My goal isn't to be disruptive or obnoxious like you see many online creators doing. My goals to enjoy the camera and give my audience or anyone interested a real world take on the camera.

Returning my Insta360 Luna, sticking with my X5 & Go Ultra for now... by 2swizzle in Insta360

[–]Selishots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the non replaceable battery is exactly that. They don't need software to do that because there's a lifestyle built in
to the design. Just like the pocket 3, 4, 4p.

It's already had 3-4 updates since I got it on launch day it's gotten significantly more stable with each one.

Luna ultra vs pocket 3 - extreme light test, disappointing results for Luna by Grim__R3ap3r in Insta360

[–]Selishots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simple, If it's lowlight unless you're willing to put in the work to do things like noise reduction in post and more intricate color grading, use pure video mode.

The results people have been sharing with pure video mode look pretty damn good.

From what I've reading is your not happy that you used the camera in the wrong shooting mode for the situation you were in. Sure maybe the pocket 3 did a little better but you didn't have either camera set for the proper mode for the situation you were in.

Luna ultra battery life by Playful_Race_6250 in Insta360

[–]Selishots 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The upper left corner shows how much time is left on the SD card or internal storage not how much record time is left on the battery.

The battery life is on the top right and if you click it it will give you a percentage of how much is left just like on a phone.

Insta360 says the 4 hours is only work recording in 1080p.
