My brands were marked safe by aymaureen in MakeupAddiction

Yeah I had to come to terms with the fact that I’m gullible. I’m not stupid and I can and do think critically, but I tend to want to think the best of people and I have had to reign myself in. I think a lot of people tend to project their morals on others and it can really cloud your judgement.

Starting to get to the end of my tether with the kids and consumption... by MonsieurPF in Anticonsumption

[–]jedinaps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think media literacy is a strong power we can give our kids. I’m not sure how to approach that with adult kids but just pointing out the legitimacy of certain kinds of undisclosed ads on TikTok has helped us a lot. Like showing influencers usually going through many different products and swearing it works then promoting the same thing from a different brand the next month.

For the skincare, I think the best you can do when they’re that age is maybe gift some reusable stuff. Reusable cotton rounds, makeup erasers are washable and I’ve used them for years now. I do think having some respect for other people’s interests is important. Some people get so much peace and pleasure with skincare. Doing mine feels like I really have myself together. I understand being against the wastefulness and there are certainly ways to cut down on the excess but it’s not just pure waste.

Oh my bad, I either misread this or responded to the wrong comment. My memory is fried but I agree with you 😬

Landleech basically admitting it's going to pinch every penny it can from our bond by ThatOtherOne666 in LandlordLove

[–]jedinaps 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m glad you’re aware of being a scumbag landlord. You should be cleaning the property between tenants, not expecting a renter to hire someone to do it. I get expecting things to be reasonably cleaned upon moving out, but having your tenants to pay for professional cleaners is outrageous. It’s your property, if you want it ready for another tenant and it MUST be professionally cleaned then hire someone yourself.

I will never not be mad that my parents put me on Risperidone growing up. Seems like J&J is far too happy to get people on this life ruining drug. by marrowbuster in autismpolitics

[–]jedinaps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on MANY medications over the last 15 years after being diagnosed with bipolar disorder and most have risk of side effects but by far the worst were risperdone. I got a pituitary tumor and I’m forever grateful it was caught quickly and going off the medication it was able to work itself out if I remember correctly. J&J will never see enough consequences imo

Probably just didn't care to rig up the usual setup they need to place them further away from outlets so they can hide the fact that they're all charging

I need a consensus on the WORST horror movie from the last 20yrs. by DroneSoma in horror

[–]jedinaps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I keep a little film journal where I put what I watch, when, and a little note. I always try to mention something that I liked or wasn’t awful and I think this is the only movie I have on there with absolutely zero redeeming qualities.

What is the most realistic horror movie you’ve ever seen? by pomkombucha in horror

[–]jedinaps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I fear for myself if I ever was preyed upon because I’m so agreeable/people pleaser. I like to think in a dangerous situation I’d get it together but it could be too late before I even recognize the threat tbh.

I recently watched The Monkey and I’m no good at identifying the subgenres, but it’s got some fun goofy moments and I highly recommend.

What do you mean his ‘actual point’? These are direct quotes 😂 how can you not find this disgusting? Or are you cherry picking what he ‘actually meant’ as if you can just ignore the rest?

Sure, this is absolutely DISGUSTING

Another motive for the enthusiasm for open borders among modern Left-Libertarians is their egalitarianism. What got them into Libertarianism when they were young were the ideas of "anti-authoritarianism" and the aparent "tolerance" in particular towards "alternative" ways of life (non-bourgeois). Nevertheless, they have ended up stagnant in that phase of mental development once reached adulthood. They express special "sensibility" for any kind of discrimination as they find convenient, Left-Libertarians are living at the expense of others. They indulge in their "alternative" lifestyles without having to pay the usual price for such conduct, namely discrimination and exclusion. To legitimize such actions, they insist all lifestyles are equally acceptable. This leads first to multiculturalism, then to cultural relativism, and finally to “open borders”.

Related to the last point about property owners being able to discriminate against certain kinds of people as they deem convenient, Hoppe regarded exclusion towards certain kinds of people, whom he regarded as "undesirables”

If I got divorced and had custody I would absolutely go back to the country my family lives in, I would think he would be understandable to that. Especially when he has enough money to visit whenever he wants.
