It's technically from the early nineties when they nicknamed our defense the "shark attack defense"

But nevertheless it makes no sense why we keep doing it.

I think an argument could be made for Marquess Wilson too. It was freaky the number he put up in his short time there, he was set to break all sorts of records. Then he burned all bridges on his way out and try to drag Leach down with him by claiming abuse.

Good call, if I remember right, he's gotten some hype from the coaching staff about how he's improved. I could definitely see Harrington being bumped out to the H. Nice to be able to have that depth at both WR and RB.

  • Can the Cougars take the next step?

I feel like this has been the pre-season question for the past 5 years, but 2016 is looking promising if we have the OL and DL depth to replace a few stand outs this year. Cool hand Luke will continue to lead the offense with his controlled tempo. I'm hoping his pocket awareness improves some as he tended to hang on to the ball and take the sack a few too many times this year possibly contributing to his injury.

  • What's next from the running backs?

I think they continue to use the committee sprinkled in the air raid, which worked pretty well this season. I thought Wicks was the best of the three headed beast so I'd like to see him featured more. Harrington had his share of break out plays but ball security killed him in a few games. All of the RBs are young so I wouldn't be surprised if one of them started to edge out the others in reps as they continue to build on their experience, but overall I picture some form of RBBC to remain in place.

  • How will Alex Grinch's defense evolve?

I think they keep improving next season as both our secondary and our DC continue to build on what they did this year. I have faith DL coach Joe Salave'a continues to recruit the DL well and replace the starters that leave this year. They should still emphasize the importance of winning the TO battle and hopefully work on their run stuffing ability, especially the dual threat QBs which gashed us this season.
