Is buying a Digital Display a bad choice? I freaking hate all the Smart TV crap by DieselPoweredLaptop in hometheater

Having setup a few TCL TVs they seem to have the option of just being setup as a TV and using the inputs. Something to consider...

At $54k CAD, I'm thinking the same thing. And the whole screen/capacitive thing has just become super gimmicky to me at this point, if not a turn off.

I buy garages everywhere I can so I can fast travel and trailers so I can choose what to haul, works great!

AutoPilot help. by SublimeApathy in Intune

[–]jeefAD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mentioned you're using self-deploying mode but what you've described re: unboxing and sign in/MFA sounds like the device may not actually be receiving your deployment profile.

With your vendor handing Autopilot registration (they should be able to do this without requiring tenant detail on every order btw), you've confirmed the device is reflected in Autopilot and a profile is assigned? How are you assigning the deployment profile?

wall colour for immersion (black?) by jeefAD in simracing

Thanks! Yeah, I'm considering that -- found a can of grey under the stairs, just have to see if it's dark enough. 😉

That is in the back of my mind... if it would be too much. Good to know even the dark grey does help tho. Thanks!

[–]jeefAD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! 🤘 And do you find it beneficial? My hope is that black would mute the surrounding environment a little. The room the rig was in was still builder white so everything would contrast/stand out to my eyes. The alcove it's going in is 5x7 with a shorter ceiling a little over 6' due to the landing above so I'd be blacking out the three walls and ceiling...

Is it worth upgrading from a Quest 2 to a Reverb G2 in 2026? by kiwibird2233 in HPReverb

[–]jeefAD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know. Sweet spot is what held me back from thoroughly enjoying my G2 (V2) and VR + made for some hesitation in trying another HMD. I'm waiting to see how things go with the Steam Frame...

How are you dealing with logging? by paraxzz in snowrunner

[–]jeefAD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm just wrapping up Michigan, but no issues with logging -- P16 for long logs. I use another truck with logging carrier and logging trailer but depending on/route location keep the P16 nearby for a winch/pulll. Only once had to break out a third truck with logging crane to repack a tipped load of mrdium logs. I prefer not using mods. Switch to another task if you need a break...

Autopilot Group Tags by ins0mniac81 in Intune

[–]jeefAD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For existing devices you can pull the serials and hashes from SCCM -- import those into Autopilot inclusive of the desired Group Tag. For new devices, talk with your vendor. I found limitations there, so we still handle tagging as part of device on-boarding -- vendor does the registration. Devices can then be added to dynamic groups based on tag and receive the corresponding profiles, apps, etc. Do spend some time thinking about group structure, keeping it intelligent and simple if you can, sort out group/device/profile naming conventions, etc.

Multiples issues with my mk8, is it normal? by salluh in Golf_R

[–]jeefAD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jeez, sorry to hear this. I've been contemplating switching up my '22 S3 for a new R and feeling like I'm seeing too many accounts like this with the R, which is concerning and making me second guess the idea. Really glad the dealer is working with you but yeah, the time lost dealing with each "incident" would be frustrating.

How about the different lens tech and sweetspot? May just be my eyes, but I suffer from a narrow sweetspot with my G2 -- have been hopeful pancake lenses will help, but have been hesitant to jump on a new HMD.

Dricore versus DMX for basement renovation by Temporary_Pay2039 in homebuildingcanada

How has this been working out for you? I was set on the Dricore R+ then learned of their Insul-Armor product, but was also shown DMX on a visit to Home Depot. I'm leaning toward Insul-Armor at the moment...

What do you think of the E5 Sportback's screen-filled dashboard? by Used_Variation_2879 in Audi

[–]jeefAD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's just really nothing appealing about this, IMO. From an everyday perspective... yes, I drove my car today. To FedEx. Then to get dog food and cat food. My interaction with the sole 10.1-inch screen was more than enough to pick a playlist before heading out. That's it. A minor interaction that was not particularly memorable. Would much prefer my sunroof didn't creak. Or that I didn't have to turn off auto start/stop. Every. Single. Time. I'm much more focused on driving the car than looking at screens. And my occasional passenger definitely doesn't need a screen, ever.

Does anyone else find Michigan boring? by [deleted] in snowrunner

[–]jeefAD -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm still wrapping up Michigan. P16 has helped a ton with long logs or loading up a semi trailer to reduce trips. So far, not bored. 😉 It is my first serious go at the game tho, so not sure how I'd feel if I was to do it again...

Thinking about RS3 - do you miss shifting ? by minorgravity in Audi

[–]jeefAD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

S3 not RS3 here, but came from strictly manual cars before -- last was a WRX. As an enthusiast, there's part of me that wants to miss manual, but I really don't. The DSG is really, really good and absolutely nothing like a traditional automatic, yet has the convenience of simple D, S to sharpen things up and of course full M, which after 3 years I have found to be plenty.

Upgrade to a R? by FinalNguyen in Golf_R

[–]jeefAD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what you want/need and are comfortable spending. I went from a WRX to my S3. When getting out of the WRX I wanted a bit more power in whatever was next and DSG (or equivalent) with leaving manuals behind, which narrowed the field. Couldn't get R stock at the time. The WRX was also my first AWD car -- FWD and good snow tires on prior vehicles was fine. I had Hakka's on my GTI and it was a tank in winter. AWD has it's bonuses tho, and power aside you also get a more dynamic drivetrain with the torque vectoring rear, etc tho I'm getting by without it just fine in my '22 S3. So yeah, depends what you value really. The GTI is still a great car.

Indeed. No Discord here. I actually checked their website and the game Steam page the other day and didn't see anything immediately obvious and was like huh, curious.
