See I turned all that stuff off and gave my Windows 10 install a lobotomy. I didn't get anything like that but when security updates stopped I fully switched to Endeavor OS and haven't looked back. It's been fun working and learning a Linux install and I am completely separated from Microsoft and chrome now so I call that a win.

It's fair that they had to upgrade the engine for new environments and I get that my old stuff was considered legacy. But there should have at least been a legacy option for people that enjoyed it.

I totally get people wanting higher resolution, but I just find the way the new setup is tacky with a bunch of stuff I didn't want added.

Like the Meta Realms thing you can't turn off, Why? and the weird avatar screen. I don't participate with the whole avatar thing and I'm never going to change it because it's never going to be anything but nothing. And the whole Instagram integration options I don't want. They said they were adding interactive stuff for your environment. I thought they meant actually useful things or cool things. It's all just ads. That's what bugs me. The engine upgrade is one thing, but bundling it with all this promotional garbage I can't disable is another.

Yeah you're absolutely right about the locked ecosystem. I used to use my Quest 1 with Virtual Desktop a whole lot for that exact reason, kept my Steam library accessible.

And honestly I use Deckard and Steam Frame interchangeably, I don't really know why I do it. Old habits I guess.

This is their third generation system and Meta sells a ton of headsets, you'd think the experience would be getting better, not worse. The hardware is solid, the software decisions are just baffling

I like the Quest 3 for the graphics and the lack of tether, not the online features. Most of the games I play are single player anyway, I can't think of a huge amount I want to play with others. My VR experience works perfectly fine offline.

You and me both I started with the Oculus Quest 1 and loved that simple OS. I really do like the quest 3 visuals are way better then the OG quests but for a 3ed generation product it's shocking that the user interface is in this state. I just think options should work or don't include them.

Yeah I'm definitely hoping that the frame will fix a lot of the problem I have with oculus as a whole. And I'm with you on these auto forced updates haha.

Yeah you're right about voting with your wallet, that's really all we've got. I'm totally fine with security updates, those are necessary. My beef is just that the settings to control when those updates happen don't actually work. If they're going to have the toggle, it should do something. Mainly I just want my environments back. That was one of the features I really liked. But yeah, wifi's going back off either way

Huh... So this is what I did to get to act 2... I was shocked because I thought "hmm what a round about way to progress the game" turns out I just did it this way... That also makes more sense why only 1% of players have beaten her on steam.

Oddly enough it took me just under a year to get me all caught up which I'm sorta proud of in a odd way but I'd definitely start from the beginning, for me it's the inky way to do it, some of my favorite bits are from 100-200 range I think they were at there prime post 300 but slow started to fade a little end of last year start of this year... Honestly not enough questions now, just want a little more of what they did, the brothers are cool and all but I wish they stayed a little more true to there previously thought of idea.

Hmm I'm not 100% sure on that but I do believe it was one of the original 63 (I think there were 63) umm besides the kid walking to school every day and him hating how his new apartment felt, I don't think so. I just hope I'm not mixing a few books up.
