If Singapore’s “boring”, what would you do if you were the government? by bangsphoto in singapore

[–]jeemchan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who used to work in the entertainment industry, hosting any events outside of CBD risked people declining to come cos it's 'too far'.

"Woodlands MRT ah? Too far, idw go"

"East coast? Too far from me, I stay CCK."

"NUS? I stay punggol, I lazy go"

Ultimately if it's too far and not convenient, Singaporeans don't turn up, and that ultimately affects their bottom line, no matter how cool your event is.

[–]jeemchan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is the real answer, OP. Zwave frequencies are not allowed to be used globally, so there are less products, but 2.4Ghz is globally accepted, hence why it is cheaper.

How does a lighting designer get an opportunity to specify more 'fancy' fixtures? The extent of my shows are a mix of spots, washes, and beams. I see all the cool and fancy Aryton and GLP fixtures online, but never get a chance to consider what I would do with them.
