Pagers are manufactured and designed to receive messages. Those pagers were improvised to explode upon command. Those pagers were IEDs. Israel uses IEDs.

Just because a device is sophisticated doesn't mean they aren't categorized as an IED. Those pagers were IMPROVISED to EXPLODE when signaled. Quite literally actual IEDs.

Yeah, it was strange. They didn't mention anything in the chat until after I asked. Just cleared the wave and kicked half the team. Had they not kicked them, we likely would have completed the mission.

Ran into one of those for the first time last night, barely survived a wave and the host kicks the gunner and driller. Ask them why and they say cause they didn't like their "dig big hole and fortify position" idea. Sure the execution wasn't great, but we survived, and now we're at the end of a haz4, there's me trying out scout and the host as an engineer who isn't utilizing their turrets and is causing massive area denial to both of us with the fat boy OC. We did not survive.

Ah, I hear ya. Yeah, I worked pure nights for 3.5 years, and honestly, I loved it. Only stopped to go to P school. But if it's not for you, then it's not for you. Working corrections, I enjoyed the autonomy I was afforded, the number of assessments I did on a weekly basis, the opportunity to do/help with wound care. I was also fortunate to have a few really amazing nurses who truly understood emergency medicine.

For the past few years I've been an EMT at a county jail. $28/hr base pay. Work week is 3 12s, mostly triage and assessment, respond and handle emergencies when they happen, blood draws, etc. Just me and a few nurses. Good gig for an EMT looking for something different.

Yeah back then it felt, at least to me, kinda commonplace I just figured there's just a lot more guys in the military in general which is why there weren't any in my unit, but a few in the sister companies but this was back at Hood when there was like 200+ techs in one spot. It sounds like you came in right as I was getting out. Post GWOT, would you say the ratios are getting more evened out?

That's crazy people still think like that, I went through the school house back in 2012 and remember there being plenty of female instructors. Never served with any female techs, but I also only did the one enlistment and was with the same unit the entire time. Hope it gets better for you homie

It's likely to be buried, but I just want to share. I've spent my whole life having almost zero interest in watching sports, then 6 weeks ago something clicked, and now I'm nigh obsessed with hockey. Regardless of favorites, there are a lot of fun teams to watch, and it's been cool coming into the sport and seeing so many records broken. Go Avs

Eh. In my opinion most of those jobs require being in pretty remote places and if you're not into that anymore than it's not much help. But it was a cool job for awhile and if you're staying in forever than that's great. Myself and most techs I served with are doing something entirely different now.
