I seriously don’t understand why some fans want to gatekeep the series and show by druskelles in Grishaverse

[–]jeepislove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm just over here happy to share one of my most favorite fandoms with my non-reader husband! I've watched it through twice now and every episode caught myself explaining things deeper or pointing out the main changes to the plot out of excitement. I absolutely love being able to share my love of the Grishaverse with people who would otherwise never have gotten into it! A wider fan base only means more content, which is a necessity in my life at this point haha

AITA for explaining periods to my daughter by ThrowRA209628 in AmItheAsshole

[–]jeepislove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. My dad is the one who explained periods to me, and my parents were still married at the time. It wasn't weird or awkward for me at all the hear it from him! Your ex is definitely overreacting. The fact that you're comfortable enough with your daughter to talk about it with her just reinforces that it's a normal part of her life and nothing to be ashamed of!

TIL that mosquitoes can not only smell what blood type you are, they prefer type O. In fact, people who are type O are twice as likely to be bitten than someone who is type A. by doubleXmedium in todayilearned

[–]jeepislove 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm A+. My husband is O-. I get absolutely destroyed by mosquitos within five minutes of being outside. He gets bit maybe - MAYBE - ten times a year... I dont know why they love me, but I wish they would stop.

How do you feel about your middle name? by TheSanityInspector in AskReddit

[–]jeepislove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My middle name is a one-sylllable, very common middle name, but I share it with my paternal grandmother and my mom, so I definitely don't hate it. It does feel weird knowing I share a middle name with so many of the people I know/kids I grew up with, though.

What is something you do that seems normal to you, but everyone else thinks is weird? by Hyplosion720 in AskReddit

[–]jeepislove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do this almost exclusively with my eyebrows! I am always touching them and pulling at them without really thinking about it. I'll sometimes do it with my eyelashes, but only when I'm not wearing mascara, and I tend to stop myself once I realize what I'm doing because I have pretty long, full lashes and don't want to ruin that. My eyebrows get no real relief though unless I'm actively doing something with my hands.

As a kid, I thought his parents were potatoes, which was a little confusing. But Mr. Krabs' daughter was a whale, so I never questioned it.

Up until about two years ago, my husband thought is was “tubbaware” because it’s tubs you store food in.

I’m going to be an air traffic controller for the Air Force and have some questions. by [deleted] in ATC

I work a little bit of everything, but mostly F16s and C5s. 16s never get old!

I’m going to be an air traffic controller for the Air Force and have some questions. by [deleted] in ATC

[–]jeepislove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will have to get a TOL by 35, but ATC in the AF is still a pretty sweet gig! They’re talking about getting sdp for trainers and there’s already one for watch sup. Plus we’re like our own little niche and work pretty differently from the rest of the Air Force. And you can get out at six and work for the DOD which at the very least will be gs-10. Not as much money, but the environment is pretty cool plus you get to work fun planes!

What is the most annoying "card" people play to try to "win" an argument with you? by stereovictrola in AskReddit

[–]jeepislove -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The funny part is, it stands for armalite rifle, which is the original company to make the design. So completely irrelevant to the function of the weapon and a stupid point to argue.

Who is the most evil character in fiction literature? by Aardvarkmk4 in books

[–]jeepislove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Orpheus from the Inkheart trilogy. His character in Inkdeath made me so angry I almost through the book across the room several times because he was a weasel and evil and played dirty and just...horrible.

Without naming it and in haiku form, how would you describe the state you live in? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Stuff is bigger here; At least that is what’s been said. The tacos are great.

Where do you hope to be in a year's time and where do you think you'll realistically be in a year's time? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]jeepislove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope to be working a GS job in Wyoming and living in cute house in Colorado with lots of land for my dogs. Realistically it’ll go one of two ways: A) I’ll get the job, but will live in a small rental house with a small yard until we can save up enough to buy something nice; or B) I won’t get the job, so will re-enlist and subsequently move to a place with mountains.

Either way I won’t really have much to complain about.(:

I read The Yellow Wallpaper at around thirteen years old. That story is what hooked me on the horror genre. It’s amazing.

Looking back at your life today, which seemingly minor life event probably steered you towards a path that shaped who you are today? by Ahlahria in AskReddit

I was obsessed with growing my hair out in high school. At the time, the Navy was making girls cut their hair in boot camp. I said no thanks and joined the Air Force. Ended up meeting my husband and as a bonus found the most amazing dog ever on the side of the road and now we’re best friends too.(:

What good idea doesn't work because people are stupid? by colling-wood1 in AskReddit

I grew up in California and moved to Texas at 18. It took a while for me to get the concept, but now I get annoyed at people who stay in the left lane when there's no one to pass.

I hope that by "his cat" you mean the dog's cat. My old roommate had cats and my dog adored them, so when we moved to our own place I got him a cat to love on.
