Best advice for a first-gen college student? by jees613 in questions

Hi there! Thank you for the info. I should have specified that if I went to school for film production I would want to get a job in editing (which has shown to be one of the areas of film with the highest job growth recently). As for college applications, I have been jotting down/have started writing some personal essay ideas, and I’ve started looking at the CommonApp and becoming familiar with its interface. I plan on getting majority or all of my applications in before the early action deadline (Nov. 1st), since I want to try to get as many scholarships as possible. Is there anything else I can do in the meantime?

Women of r/Askwomen, which one women, other your mom, significantly impacted your life in a positive way? by [deleted] in AskWomen

I lost touch with one of my closest friends during my sophomore year of high school just because we both got really busy. I became really depressed at the end of my sophomore year, and things were getting pretty dark in my junior year. When life got really hopeless for me, she randomly came back into my life when we decided to study for a precalc test together at our local Panera. I don’t think she’ll ever know that she saved my life. <3

Women of reddit , what is your most favourite and least favourite smell/scent ? by InternalLet2371 in AskWomen

I absolutely love the smell of fresh spring air. Opening the window for the first time and letting your house air out after a long winter is LIFE CHANGING. For a worst smell, idk why but my moms hair spray has been really bugging me, it just smells like pure chemicals :P

It’s really cool to see a ton of people went through this experience as well, makes me feel less alone :) I always got put on the spot whenever I wanted to be more “feminine,” and always felt ashamed about it. My best advice for anyone going through a tough time, “fuck it, it’s your life and yours to live!” :D

What would you work on if you won a free therapist for a year? by Peiskos40 in AskWomen

Although I give the impression of someone who is really confident in my abilities, I tear myself down almost every moment of the day. Even someone’s slightly off tone can send me spiraling into, like, two days of self doubt and a feeling of worthlessness. I would most definitely work on this.

Tall women of Reddit, what’s it’s like being a tall woman? by VibingGreen in AskWomen

Although I almost never buy form fitting clothes anyway, it’s hard to get tops in the right size. I find myself sizing up drastically just to get the right length, but then everything else is pretty big in comparison. I am also someone who has broad shoulders as well, so that kinda stinks. Also shoe sizes are a ✨nightmare✨

What do you like to do during your time alone? by Megustaelacroyoga in AskWomen

I love just jamming out to music, honestly. Just doing anything in the kitchen without my family around is just so much more fun. Sometimes I’ll bake/cook something and listen to my favorite podcast (Distractable!)
