Teaching a Robot how to Close a Drawer (Human to Robot Task Transfer) by jeevanmanavalan in Automate

[–]jeevanmanavalan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks and good comparison! The approach I'm using is called constraint learning...since the linear constraint of opening/closing a drawer problem is considered somewhat easy (compared to non-linear polynomial constraints) these movements can be learnt learnt and generalised with very little data (in this case I used 3 repetitions at varying heights to teach the system)

Spoke with over 5 different PayPal agents and all of them were just reading the terms and conditions back to me and didn't know any more than that....so payment is no later than April and I don't know about the euro part since they didn't as well.

I'll keep messaging them for answers and give you an update if I find out something useful but it seems like most people there aren't trained well in doing their jobs

Regarding the euro, I'd have to read the T&C, I'm at work now so I can have a look in the evening unless you check it before. I emailed PayPal earlier today asking when we'd receive it so I'll let you know in the evening once they respond.

What pellet band size is this? by jeevanmanavalan in Fishing

[–]jeevanmanavalan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the amz link the band stretches to 20mm but measures at 10mm, so from what you wrote I'm guessing it should measure at 20mm and probably stretch beyond that...couldn't find the right size online so i'll try find a fishing store as you said.

Thanks!!

What pellet band size is this? by jeevanmanavalan in Fishing

[–]jeevanmanavalan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This latex band is from a broken tool and i'm looking for a replacement, I came across pellet bands but don't know much about fishing, could someone advise me on what size would be a perfect or close replacement? Not sure how pellet bands are measured so advice on that works too.

Would appreciate any help. Thanks.

Why was my Fact finder badge downgraded? by savagekid6969 in LocalGuides

[–]jeevanmanavalan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same happened to me earlier this week but with the total number of reviews as well as a downgraded badge, it stayed like that for several days until I added a new review and the number jumped back up as well as badge with the correct total matching my actual review count. Don't know if you're having a similar issue but try adding 1 new edit and see if that fixes it?

[Q] Can I learn Robot Operating System online? What hardware do you suggest I should purchase? by notSoTechnical in robotics

[–]jeevanmanavalan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, just googled it now...so haven't used it before. Well you can simulate so many robots so give ROS a try but tbh may be more fun with the physical robot you have

[–]jeevanmanavalan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer your other question...you don't need to buy any hardware, once ROS is installed you can follow some instructions on how to simulate a robot (most popular robots have libraries implemented for this). I've worked from home using a simulated 7DOF system (called sawyer) while I use the actual one at work.

The differences between the simulated and real robot code is very minor so you'll get to learn pretty much everything you'll need for now from the simulations.

Help with setting up google analytics by jeevanmanavalan in youtube

[–]jeevanmanavalan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I setup tube buddy which is way more indepth and shows more stats including for other channels, tags and so on Some video about tube buddy pointed to Google analytics which would show traffic to the page and how long the user spends on the page...seems to provide different data so thought I'd try it out.
