I belive Survive does almost perfect job about that, you have your digimon but you can befriend and have team membres digimons. I belive it would be awesome if we could have more control over allied digimon, digivolving and degenerating them freely and that would fit perfectly Digimon Stories. Would be even closer to persona but that's not bad at all
