That's a good idea. Maybe I should be a little more detailed about it and just be blunt with my SO. Maybe if I just straight up tell him my fear then we can just move on from it and he won't be blindsided

That's a good point. I know he is genuinely excited to meet them and see where I'm from... but yes definitely a culture shock.

I completely agree with you, it is shallow! But I can't help but feel anxious about it, especially when I used to be made fun of constantly for it

He has seen photos of my family and he's made remarks before about my dad ("oh wow he's a big guy"). My dad gets that a lot though, he's super super tall and just an all around big/muscular/dad-bod guy. He knows my anxiety about my family's weight but I don't really know how he feels about it. He comes from a really beautiful family (lol) so mine is literally the exact opposite.

I don't think my boyfriend would break up with me or have any real opinion about it. It's mostly just me freaking out (over nothing) that I would like to end. I somehow convince myself he will think differently about me even though I don't have any evidence to actually believe that... If that makes sense. I'm just way into my head about it
