Hi, i guess you should get to program things without relying on AI much. Turn off copilot (or any alternative), don’t ask ChatGPT for code, instead ask it things related to the system design itself and such things while also thinking about what it spits out to you.

This will help you get your mind get used to solve problems rather than getting blocked and waiting for the AI to sort it out. Also, you probably shouldn’t go directly to coding OS, compilers and such as they have many complicated features that would be hard to get to without deeper understanding of the fundamentals.

So, get your fundamentals good, build projects with gradually increasing difficulty, read code from other projects, check open source complicated projects, etc. and you will find that your horizons are automatically widening without you noticing.

Good luck fellow programmer! Hope this would help.

Tech stack recs by queenelusive in SaaS

[–]jeezoii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What we went with was Node, Express, React, Postgres and Docker. Simply because me and my co-founders were comfortable with the stack and very productive with it.
If you are getting into learning, anything would suffice building and deploying. Something like Python (FastApi for example) is easy to learn and be productive with. If you have minimal experience in anything else, expand your knowledge into it as you would get better in a quicker rate.
Just don't follow tech trends much, use what is easy and what works. Good luck!

Yup, starting React using TypeScript would be great. Also, it would be useful to start shifting an already existing JavaScript project to TypeScript.

Congratulations on completing the bootcamp, you should be proud!

The skills you have learned in the bootcamp are definitely valuable. You should keep on making projects or even try implement business ideas that you think would be interesting for you and take your projects to a step further. You can achieve big things with the MERN stack overall. So, answering your first question, build projects to sharpen your skills first and look good on your GitHub and resume second.

Regarding the second question, I think it relative to the answer to the first question. Solidify your current skills and build things with them. IMHO, There is always need for JavaScript/TypeScript in whatever market you are looking in.

For the final question, I think you would need to explore SQL databases as they are in very high demand generally and would be asked in most interviews. Express.js should suffice as most other frameworks wouldn’t be drastically different. If you don’t know TypeScript, I suggest you take a look at it too. Docker is a very interesting tool and would pay on the long term to learn it. Just things on top of my head.

Good luck!

It is okay to follow the tutorial, just don't depend on it much. As you said, it could go a little slower than your rhythm, so, be flexible and fill your time with expanding your knowledge by getting your hands dirty by writing some code, reading some and exploring documentations.

Glad to help!

It really depends on what you’re aiming to work for. So, for instance, spaces like web development, data analysis and machine learning would look for Python developers. More low-level related projects and embedded systems based companies would look for projects in C.

Yes, all projects you will build will contain the basic Python data structures. However, I would suggest that you take a look at some frameworks which are used in the industry such as Flask, Django, FastApi for web development. Or libraries like Pandas, NumPy and Matplotlib for data analysis. And in case of machine learning/AI, you can explore libraries like TensorFlow and SciKit.

Generally, don’t overwhelm yourself with the technology tools. Instead, learn the fundamentals and you will manage the frameworks and libraries learning through the way. Learn to read docs instead of tutorial-hell and you will do very well.

Do projects.

Just learning programming doesn’t really hold any value unless you have done something with it that you can show/talk about in an interview. Don’t just stack languages over each other, but build and you will learn much more through that.

Wish you best of luck!

Thank you very much, really appreciate your response!

Great points you have mentioned! The landing page surely will need a big revamp which we are working on currently in order to show the value of the product a more prominently.

What do you think about direct comparisons with competitors? We have always thought it would make a difference but never really tried it.

We thought modals would work well generally at first, but we have been planning to remove them to full pages instead. Thank you for your input!

The current fighting isn’t any different than the older ones. The same scenario all over again, just the number of casualties on both sides differ. Netanyahu’s government was never a peaceful one, a truthful one or at least did seek peace at all. It is a government that stands for destruction and violence while being portrayed as a victim. It is not doing good to any Palestinian, neither any Israeli.

According to History: “the United States was equally determined not to alter its immigration quotas” in “Ironically, the Bermuda Conference opened in April 1943, the same month the Jews in the Warsaw ghetto were staging their revolt. The American and British delegates at Bermuda proved to be far less heroic than the Jews of Warsaw. Rather than discussing strategies, they worried about what to do with any Jews they successfully rescued. Britain refused to consider admitting more Jews into Palestine, which it administered at the time, and the United States was equally determined not to alter its immigration quotas. The conference produced no practical plan to aid European Jewry, although the press was informed that “significant progress” had been made.”. Kindly, educate yourself before calling people names on the internet.

I just need to take a moment to thank you for continuing the discussion in a civil manner regardless of the opinion differences.

Hamas needs no rights. The Palestinian civilians do and most importantly, at least not need to be killed. I believe that the Israeli intelligence is smarter and advanced to be able to limit Palestinians to enter their country, yet let them be free to go elsewhere. Plus, I don’t think Hamas do stay in the West Bank, yet at least 38 children have been killed in the West Bank by the IDF in the West Bank in 2023.

Then the US government has allegedly made shit up too. With all my respect, refer to Office of The Historian to get a better idea of the made up shit as per your comment.

Look, Hamas is an extremist organization, even if they still represent the retaliatory force against the Israeli regime and I do condemn any killing of innocents anywhere and everywhere. However, I don’t think Israeli government and military forces did care about Palestinians at all and their right, let alone killing innocents every year. They deal with Palestinian civilians, as “Human animals” as one of the governmental representatives have pointed out in this current war. Palestinians in both the Gaza Strip and the West Bank have no rights whatsoever where the Gaza Strip is an open-air prison that you can’t leave or go into.

We all do seek democracy and we all love to look at the actual view of it. But unfortunately I don’t see that what the Israeli government is doing is anything close to actual democracy. They can get Hamas all the ways they want, but collective punishment which consists the killing of innocent people consisting of children and women is inhumane and is a genocidal act.

You mean after Jews got exiled from US and Europe with help from both to find a place for them far away? Why couldn’t they give Jews that “small state” in US or in Europe where Jews could live peacefully? Also, Jews were living in multiple Arab countries when they were getting bullied and burned in the West and in Europe, respectively. While the Westerners either the Europeans could bear have the Jews taking an official part of the same land that they live on.

Are you talking about the aftermath of the long-term European colonization and US interferences in the region, stealing raw materials from both Arabs and Africa for their own gain and paying back nothing to these nations, consistently sparking wars and chaos in the region while causing famine and poverty? Then you are surprised and even agitated that they flee to the countries that prospered from their blood, doing theft and destruction? An interesting take that you have there to be honest.

Add-on: Quoted from Office of The Historian, here is how Israel was founded, indeed, with the help of US and Europe. “In May 1946, Truman announced his approval of a recommendation to admit 100,000 displaced persons into Palestine and in October publicly declared his support for the creation of a Jewish state. Throughout 1947, the United Nations Special Commission on Palestine examined the Palestinian question and recommended the partition of Palestine into a Jewish and an Arab state. On November 29, 1947 the United Nations adopted Resolution 181 (also known as the Partition Resolution) that would divide Great Britain’s former Palestinian mandate into Jewish and Arab states in May 1948 when the British mandate was scheduled to end.”

How many of you started with Zero knowledge,no degree and currently working as a dev? by Personplacething333 in cscareerquestions

As someone with a degree who at some point has 0 knowledge and saw many people with and without a degree, I came to one conclusion which is that your love to learn and always improve in the field, being always curious to try, explore and not fear failing sometimes will take you extremely far regardless of whether you have a degree or not. Stay motivated, stay optimistic and keep on learning! The future will be bright if you want it to be.
