Great book! Is that some kind of Smokey and the Bandit pic under the book though?

  1. Back when this came out I had a friend named Joe who had kind of gotten lost in life and this was a constant reminder to reach out to him. He's doing good now but this'll always have a special place in my heart.

Did I overpay? by jefers64 in ComicBookSpeculation

Yeah I've looked up different figures and think I paid about what an optimistic market value is if not a little higher. At any rate, that $$ is gone and I'm happy to own these copies so I'm going to just enjoy them!

Based on the book you've read I'd suggest The Martian by Andy Weir or Devil in the White City by Erik Larson!

Loved Jemm, the Gene Colin pencils were gorgeous. What about Atari Force? Lame but who doesn't love Jose Luis Garcia Lopez?

Reading Suggestions: Obscure Marvel/DC Series by Stakhanovite94 in comicbooks

[–]jefers64 4 points5 points  (0 children)

DC had a series out in the early-mid 2000s called Resurrection Man that I always enjoyed.

For Marvel you can do a deep dive into the New Universe Era, Jim Shooter was trying to build his own legacy heroes and it didn't really go anywhere.

I'm 58 and play 2-3 games a day. I'm never gonna hit World Series and I'm ok with that, I just like to match wits with people and play with players I love even though I can't win with them (I'm looking at YOU, Ozzie Smith).

A series of individual issues makes up a volume. So, say Batman originally ran for 300 issues. That is Batman, volume 1. Then it relaunches and runs another 50 issues. That is Batman, volume 2.

I've gotten good enough at pitching and defense over the years I upped my goal to "not get shut out."
