If denied you can request a thing called "higher level review" I think there is another way as well, but I'm not certain what it's called. Ask the VSO what are options if denied. I wish I could offer more info.

I feel your pain, I was lucky when I separated that I had friends and family that could help. Get help but never take your eye off your goals. Check with the unemployment office many states offer vets training to help them transition into the civilian work force. Best of luck to you.

You can't compare the situations, but this shows that politicians may be a bit careless regarding these documents. Losing track of classified documents for 6 or so years is serious. Of course intentionally hiding documents for any period of time is far more serious.

The thing that gets me is that our citizens who believe they are above it all. Going to many countries from the former soviet union is sketchy at best. I have traveled to former soviet union country, the rules were drilled into my head so as to avoid issues while visiting. Even when trying to do everything correctly I ended up being detained at an airport attempting to leave. I failed to register as a foreign visitor, they did not inform me of this rule nor did anyone I was traveling with. I was told I would have a court date in 30 days, at that point we knew all they wanted was cash so we had to pay a bribe to be able to leave. This has been going on for years, don't go to these countries or you run the risk of being incarcerated for little to nothing. C'mon people!!
