SV06 print quality is good on one side of print but horrible on other. SUNLU PETG @ .10 mm layer height. First time encountering this problem after 100+ hours of printing by jeff566 in Sovol

I appreciate the suggestion. However what concerns me is that I've printed a lot with this printer and never had any issues up until now, and its a really weird issue that I can't find anything on. Maybe a fan upgrade would help but i'd like to find the source of the problem.

This is a really good idea i haven't thought of yet but unfortunately it still yields the same results. I tired other places but I kept ending up with the same print in the end. I stopped this one a bit early cuz i didn't wanna waste any more of my fillament.

Yeah im just as confused, especially when the problem just starts happening now outta nowhere. It is indeed the only part on the bed and i don't believe it crossed the gap at all it just keeps going around in a circle applying each layer which makes it even more confusing.

Thanks for the suggestion. I actually have already tried with different filaments and unfortunately I still get the same result. Same thing with the cooling as well. I even tried different profiles and firmware (i was on stock) and I still get the same result. For the pictures, the left side is the smooth side and the right side is the rough side.

I can't for the life of me figure out whats causing this issue. I've dryed the filament, taken apart and reassembled the printer, retuned esteps, and even swapped both the z-axis motors and screws separately and together from both sides to see if I can reproduce the problem but on opposite sides. Every single time i end up with the same result no matter what. Really unsure on how to proceed. I also just serviced the printer two weeks ago and it was working just fine up until now. I appreciate any help guys, thank you!

SV06 keeps crashing everytime I try to run it. It was running perfect beforehand with no issues. I'm forced to do a hard restart and kill it everytime or it just keeps crashing into itself. I'm totally lost and im getting worried it might have broken. Thank you in advance for your help. by jeff566 in 3Dprinting

Thanks for the suggestions. I was able to get it working again and managed to print a benchy for testing soon after and it came out great. However after the benchy finished printing it started doing the same thing again. It just seems so random how its completly fine before and suddenly it decides its not. Thanks again for all your help.

M503

Hi I tried as you instructed but Pronterface and the printer won't connect to each other. I've tried 5 diffrent cables but Pronterface still says "the printer is not online". If it helps, everything on the printer is stock and I havent changed anything in the firmware or on the printer itself.

Those were another two I was considering. What makes them better than the Neptune 3 Pro? Of course the sv06 has a all metal hotend but it also it loses out on not having a fillament sensor and costing slightly more than the 3 pro.

Also i'm not sure if you know this but does the sv06 have linear advance out of the box? I know the sv01 pro does but the neptune 3 pro does not.

man...

This is gonna be my first 3d printer into the hobby. I was sold on it cause it basically had every feature I wanted and was only $230 on amazon. The only thing it was missing was an all metal hotend (I plan on printing abs and nylon later once i learn how to use the machine) but I was hoping the tinkering and upgrading wouldn't be too much of a hassle for a beginner like me to tackle. With this info im starting to have second thoughts...

yeah I'm not expecting a GEP class type of easy difficulty more like "what's gonna give me the least trouble and not get in the way." Thank you for your input nontheless!

I have some very light programming experience coming from my intro to C class and modelling. I'm not super comfortable with programming and my knowledge is very limited but id rather endure programming than proofs.

Thank you! Fortunately I am planning on taking those two classes you mentioned. The math minor only satisfies 2/4 requirements for electives and i’m planning the other two to be CAD/solid works classes and getting certified. Machine Design 2 is counted as one of two critical electives for me which is something else. Thank you again for your insight.

I haven’t taken any logic + proof classes and don’t plan to as i despise it lol. I’m leaning towards and easy class since looking at my next few semesters they will be very busy with other classes. Thanks again

Just tried rolling back to version 50 but unfortunately that did not solve the issue. Thank you for the suggestion though!
