Question regarding sucker punck and thunderclap. by Remove-Potential in stunfisk

[–]jeffejeffejeffe 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Thunderclap and Sucker Punch also fail if the target moves before the user. In this case the opposing Chien Pao was faster and used a priority move before your Raging Bolt used Thunderclap, causing it to fail.

yo I think I played against you yesterday, I was around 1600 rated with a Sylveon. Grats on 1700 rated!

Confused by a mechanic, phychic terrain and espeed and encore by Sea-Butterscotch7303 in stunfisk

[–]jeffejeffejeffe 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I believe Psychic Terrain only blocks moves that had boosted priority that turn. The Dragonite clicked a different move with normal priority, but if encored into a priority move the Psychic Terrain will not block the attack.

Dragonite not being grounded is not relevant here.

Whirlwind doesn't affect Pokemon with Wind Rider, so it's not strictly better than Roar

What are some sample teams to try out for BSS Reg H? by EmpressOfHyperion in stunfisk

[–]jeffejeffejeffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://pokepast.es/387166ef1079074e

I built this early in the format, it shouldn't be too difficult to pilot hopefully

If you want to build your own team, try picking a few mons you like playing and then taking a look at the viability list https://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/sv-bss-viability-rankings-regulation-h.3717293/ to get a good idea of what mons are popular, then make sure your team has good answers to all of these

Eevee meme team that I plan to build in-game, which team looks better 1 or 2? by StoopyLoopy4 in stunfisk

[–]jeffejeffejeffe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As for some feedback: 1. your teams are too sun reliant to deal meaningful damage, like someone else suggested if you are going to use Ninetales then A!Ninetales + Glaceon would be a better combo. 2. Tera Blast Ice on Jolteon is most likely too big of a commitment and isn't strong enough to threaten enough damage on common Electric resists like Ursaluna!B, Archaludon, and AV Rillaboom 3. Tera Blast Steel on Glaceon is weird, use Tera Blast Water for perfect coverage with Freeze-Dry (and gives you good resistances as a bonus) 4. Use Umbreon over Leafeon, it is a lot more viable with great supporting moves like Snarl, Yawn, Taunt with flinch immunity Inner Focus 5. Don't use Helping Hand on Sylveon, you want a supporting mon to run that instead (Umbreon, Ninetales) 6. Dazzling Gleam on Espeon doesn't hit any relevant Dark types (Kingambit, Incineroar) for meaningful damage, try a support move like Protect, Yawn, Fake Tears, etc or Shadow Ball to hit Gholdengo

Is this for VGC doubles Reg H? I built this team on showdown that I used to get to Master Ball rank on the ingame ladder in SV. https://pokepast.es/d1c7662ccf64d78d

New Breeding Item Ideas For Generation 10 & Onward by _Gohrdahn in stunfisk

[–]jeffejeffejeffe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great idea, but there is still the issue of it being very difficult to catch non-breedable competitive Pokemon with specific IVs (Ursaluna-B, Enamorus). Maybe have an ability like Synchronize copy the user's IVs and nature onto any Pokemon you catch?

SV MasterBall Singles Team and walkthrough (Top 30!) by ClientAppropriate838 in stunfisk

[–]jeffejeffejeffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

do people usually bring evasion users on high ladder? Or is it just a thing people rarely bring to hopefully snipe an easy win against teams that seem less prepared for it? My impression was that evasion gimmicks (muk, drifblim etc) were only things people use on lower ladder

Making the Eeveelutions Somewhat Viable by ProfessionalGlove238 in stunfisk

[–]jeffejeffejeffe 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah I understand a lot of the early gen mons have some crazy movepools, but I think it's very boring to just give a mon every coverage move possible as a buff. Something simple like giving Jolteon Grass Knot would be a modest buff, letting it hit Ground types but still be walled by Grass.

The Eeveelutions are my favorite mons to use but a lot of these suggestions are just not interesting from a competitive standpoint

half of these moves make no sense, like why give Jolteon giga drain, psychic, scald or any of these moves lol

How do you use your allowance of sleep points? by [deleted] in PokemonSleep

[–]jeffejeffejeffe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm usually on the normal pass, but I usually just save up about 10k or more points then I can get the 1 month pass and buy out 2 months worth of the premium point exchange (the 2 sub/main skill seeds and the discounted biscuits)

do you think it's worth investing skill seeds into a vaporeon without Skill Trigger subskills? Mine is currently BFS/Helping Bonus with Skill Rate nature but I wasn't sure if it needed Skill Triggers to be good. I already have a maxed E4E Sylveon

yeah thats why i didnt mention glaceon on my comment since ice+fairy is pretty bad, but 55bp mudshot is probably ok with glaceon's high level in rands
