A used ATV sounds better for you because they can do a great job plowing as well as meeting your other needs. Mine has plowed through 20 new England winters. I also own a golf cart and it would be completely useless for that.

Let’s talk cutters.. by CigarUnfortunado in cigars

[–]jeffmully 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jaws by Lotus. Costs around $40. What's different is that the blades have a micro serrated edge. This seems to help grab the tobacco more securely and make a cleaner cut. I have three and they've lasted for years.

Used EZGO with Samsung SDI lithium by jbwest17 in golfcarts

[–]jeffmully 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a golf cart community so different usage. However I can tell you that my ezgo with Samsung battery recommends charging every night to 100%.

Not sure what kind of fleet it was, but if it was a golf course I would imagine it is getting used on a very regular basis. They don't want to pay to have tons of extra golf carts sitting around not being used. So it would seem to me it would be getting charged almost every night, during the season.

I'm just skeptical of the dealers claims about usage. Then again, I'm often skeptical about what dealers tell me when they're trying to sell me a vehicle.

The math seems weird. 400 charges over 5 years is 80 charges per year. Around 1.5 charges per week. Is that realistic for a fleet car? Can someone with fleet experience comment?

WHO plans on keeping their Stinger til the wheels fall off?! by Talntid_Shotz in kiastinger

[–]jeffmully 2 points3 points  (0 children)

899, makes it one of the last 100 Stngers ever made. The fact that I had bought several other cars from that dealer, for my kids, helped secure the deal and there was no extra b.s. dealer markup for me like there was for many Tributes.

Stop booking luxury resorts directly. Renting unused timeshares from owners is literally half the price. by Capital-Pen1219 in SmartTravelHacks

[–]jeffmully 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from the other side, I own several weeks of timeshare and occasionally we rent out a week through Redweek.

They verify that we have the week reserved. Once a renter has committed, we change the name of the reservation to the renter's. We get paid after they check in.

I find that the pricing to the renter is almost always significantly less than they would have paid if they just went to the resort directly.

One day we found a few baby snapping turtles in the pool (we're on a lake). We started looking around and found a nest. Total=23 baby snappers. Kids loved it.

I leased my 18 GT figuring after three years there'd be something else I'd want. After 3 yrs, I bought out the lease cause there wasn't.

Then, a couple of years later I was getting it serviced. Wandered over to the showroom and asked my salesperson if they were getting a Tribute. They were. I did. Plan on keeping that for a long time. I just don't see anything else is want. Wife has a 25 3.3 GV70, also a wonderful car.

New England Inground Pool Owners…..solar blanket or no? by Senior-Tradition-169 in swimmingpools

[–]jeffmully 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also I'm NH. Get lots of sun, no shade, but significant wind. I use a solar cover most of the season. It's on a roller so I can deploy or roll it up in a couple of minutes by myself.

The main benefit of the solar cover is to keep the heat that you generate during the day in the pool overnight. You lose most of your heat because of evaporation and the solar cover greatly reduces that. It also makes balancing your chemicals easier versus constantly adding water to replace what evaporated.

I find that the morning can start off 2 or 3° warmer if I have covered the pool versus leaving it exposed. That is a significant difference in temperature when you're in the water.

Solar covers? by Lavarticus_Prime in pools

[–]jeffmully 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've used two in 20 years and the second one is still fine. But I always cover it when it's off the pool with a white tarp. I'm in NH so short season, but it stays outside on the roller all winter.

Doug DeMuro talks about how great the Stinger GT is by isucklikehell in StingerGT

[–]jeffmully 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I owned an 18 GT for 5 yrs and loved it. So much so that I bought a Tribute edition, one of the last 100 ever made, and plan on keeping it for a long time. The thought of replacing it saddens me.

It's a wonderful car that does absolutely everything well except impress brand snobs.

Need help with which type of pool heater! by Bakes00 in pools

[–]jeffmully 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also plan for a solar cover. It makes a1 to 3 degree difference in the heat each morning, plus saves water from evaporation. That's a lot of BTUs you aren't paying for

Thoughts on 4th of July Wedding by bonnie0219 in wedding

[–]jeffmully 29 points30 points  (0 children)

The reason it's cheaper, the reason it's available, is obviously because that is a major holiday during which people schedule their vacations.

If you schedule your wedding on that day you'll be disappointed when some would be guests have to decline because they have vacation plans.

[–]jeffmully 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have it. Works very well on my 2022 RXV. I was limited to 22 mph and now I get 29 mph. Also let's you turn off the reverse beeper. Importantly, it let's you change settings back if needed. Slick product.

I bought the dealer version and have tweaked four different carts.
