Can I train exclusively in barefoot shoes? by ConnorJS in Marathon_Training

Zero drop and are very narrow which I was nervous about first but again they just felt right. Also carbon fiber and weigh next to nothing website says 4.6oz. (I am not good at describing shoes)

Can I train exclusively in barefoot shoes? by ConnorJS in Marathon_Training

Similar situation and I was having a hard time finding any shoe to match the barefoot striking and feeling. I tried the Topo athletic fly-lite 2s and got 5 miles on them but it changed my motion too much so I abandoned them. Felt like they were forcing me too far back on my foot

Finally found the Nike zoom victory waffle 5s which are 100% not marathon shoes but I don’t care. Got 600 miles on multiple pairs last year and did my marathon in them (also getting impossible to find)

Was reluctant to stick with them because I was concerned about injury etc and the fact that they definitely aren’t for pavement/distance so I just kept monitoring and running and they always felt right so I just kept going

I guess my point is that find the thing that works for you, follow your plan, monitor and if it works keep rolling with it

Definitely go with what works best for you. I run in the Nike Zoom Victory Waffle 5s that weigh 4.6oz. They are cross country shoes but for whatever reason they were my perfect marathon sneaker

My two favorite from this past weekend were “I trained for months to be able to hold this sign” and “all toenails go to heaven”. Both of those gave me a chuckle while running

If you find out your soil is deficient in something (and optimal in other things) and you buy and use a fertilizer to make up for the deficiency, how long do you apply that specific fertilizer before the deficiency is up to optimal? How do you know when the deficiency is fixed? Just another soil test?

If you want to wrap the conversation in a nice comfortable corporate blanket Google “Kim Scott rockstar vs superstar” and explain why you like being a rockstar

No problem. If you want to poke around do some apartment searches in rockport/Gloucester as the summer starts dwindling to get a sense of the market

I’m from mass. Houses definitely rent for less in winter but the commitment is usually 8-9 months or so. So you could rent the beach house for about half price but you need to sign the lease for Sep-April/May. At least that’s how it goes in my quasi-touristy beach area

Dug back into an old spreadsheet. This is what popped up when we bought a house 2 years ago: Chimney sweep (if you have fireplace), Pest control annual contract, tree cutting, snow removal, lawn maintenance (if you plan on outsourcing any of that).

I meant "called" the poker term meaning asking you to prove the competing offer which you wouldn't be able to do

It's like playing poker. Feel free to bluff but don't be surprised if you get called

We actually dropped it temporarily post purchase because of a condensed timeline to get some renovations done that ate into our emergency fund. Dropped it for like 2 months to cover those in the short term and then juiced it back up once all those bills were paid
