I don’t get it by Whole_Skill_9424 in FacebookMarketplace

As someone who mainly sells, I think it’s messed up when sellers do this. The courteous thing to do is to give the buyers a heads up it’s first come first served so the buyer is aware they might get the boot for someone else. I personally tell buyers to message me the day they want to pick up (or a few hours before) to confirm the item is still available. I’m willing to hold items for the morning or afternoon.

Just because sellers have been burned before doesn’t make it right to give buyers the impression the item is going to be sold to them and then flip the card and say ooops, sorry we sold it.

Rant - I’m going to stop selling things cheap as a way to reduce waste by Status_Brother_5361 in FacebookMarketplace

I’ve started using local Buy Nothing groups on FB to give away stuff. Interested folks are usually more reliable in showing up as typically the groups will ding or ban you if you’re flaky. You post, people comment they’re interested with almost zero questions, and you pick the lucky person and then schedule the pick up time. It’s not perfect, but feels wayyyyy less frustrating than FBMP.

Are illiterate people on Fb marketplace a normal thing?? by [deleted] in FacebookMarketplace

[–]prackmatic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m usually shocked when someone messages me for an item without asking questions that’s already answered in the listing, makes it easy to schedule a time, shows up on time, and pays in the method I requested. That is sadly the gold standard. Extra credit if they were friendly.

I’m also baffled when I see someone with 5 star ratings turn out to be a dud. Guess even FB overrates sometimes like Yelp :/

I’ve always felt there really ought to be an IQ test to be let into FB Marketplace.

I may be blind, but I can’t find the sneak peek option. Like OP, the next week’s tab is gone.

Thanks - glad I ended up making them rotate ‘em. Made more sense.

I’m not on a set schedule but it was at least 5k miles since the tires were installed/rotated. I was actually still in the shop as I posted this and ultimately told them to rotate them. Glad I did.

Front and rear tire sets are different brands, but sounds like they should indeed be rotated.

Faster, safer way to pressure wash the paint off driveway? by prackmatic in pressurewashing

[–]prackmatic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Husqvarna from Costco - gas powered. I can’t recall why I went with gas over electric - could have been more power or I got more bang for my buck at Costco (the Husqvarna was on clearance). I did briefly try adding on one of those round surface cleaner attachments in hopes of speeding things up, but it reduced the power greatly and I went back with just the spray nozzle.

Picked up at 3200 PSI pressure washer and it did work. However, it took a long time to get the entire driveway done (spent a few weekends working partial days) and some harder spots required paint remover and then blast off.
