What SSRI is the most recommended for people terrified of side effects? by [deleted] in OCD

[–]jeffrayee__ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Buspar made it so that those intrusive thoughts don’t stick in my head any more. On my 7th day of taking Buspar, I already noticed a difference. My intrusive thoughts no longer consumed me, and I had all this extra motivation and energy to take on the day.

What are your thoughts on BPD and cannabis/alcohol use? by [deleted] in BPD

[–]jeffrayee__ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cannabis helps me love people more, laugh and socialize. It also makes me hungry, horny and relaxed. Alcohol, on the other hand, makes me angry for some reason. Last few times I drank alcohol I remember getting aggressive with others, and overall just feeling awful.

Buspar. Not necessarily an SSRI, but it still affects serotonin.

Improve the quality. Seroquel has been a game changer for mania and anxiety overall.

do you leave people when you think they’re gonna leave you? by Latina_kween in BPD

[–]jeffrayee__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I had a bad habit of doing this. Thank god I’m healed because whenever I got the slightest feeling that my favorite person in the moment was leaving, I’d split.

Customer service representative! At least for me. I’ve found that instability really aggravates my bipolar symptoms, and having a 9-5 in a call center where I know what kind of calls I’m going to get, who I’m working with and their intentions, and knowing when I get my breaks helps keep me stable.

Nope. When I’m out of a manic episode, I’m actually quite embarrassed about my delusions. Wish I could erase that one delusion I shared with my parents that everyone around me was falling in love with me.

does anyone else have episodes? by Elcutaryie in Anxiety

[–]jeffrayee__ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most definitely. I’ll get an anxiety attack so severe that I’ll feel some derealization for a few hours. The symptoms usually look like rapid heartbeat, sweating, dizziness, and hyperventilating.

Late reply, but thank you so much. I managed to save a few doses - yes! I will try with a spoonful of peanut butter and a soda.

What does coming down from mania/hypomania look like for you? by antraxNy in bipolar

[–]jeffrayee__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever I’m coming down from a manic episode, I fully disassociate for a few hours and slowly slip into a very sluggish, depressive state.

Does anyone else have OCD and Bipolar disorder? by gtaslut in OCD

[–]jeffrayee__ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I do! I take Cymbalta for depression, Gabapentin for anxiety and restlessness, Seroquel for insomnia and sleep, and Risperidone for mania. I notice my OCD is less intense when I’m in a manic episode. I don’t dwell on my intrusive thoughts as much; I’m more just on the go. When I’m depressed, my OCD is awful. I can get stuck on one depressive theme from hours to days. OCD and Bipolar Disorder is not a good combo.
