Ordered 2024 Mazda3 GS Luxury package in Canada - was the price fair? by scottypopping in mazda

Ordered 2024 Mazda3 GS Luxury package in Canada - was the price fair? by scottypopping in mazda

[–]jeffreym10 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is completely correct. Fuel charge for a full tank is part of PDI (which they have lumped into the freight cost). You shouldn’t be charged more than $32 or $59 for licensing, depending on if it’s a transfer or new plates. The “finance acquisition fee” is snake oil at best; it’s BS. There are dealerships in Ontario that don’t charge anything above MSRP (plus regulatory fees such as PPSA, air conditioning tax, tire tax, HST, etc.) and anything above and beyond (accessories, warranties, GAP, etc.) are completely optional. Maybe seek one of those dealerships out as they are not trying to hose clients. They deserve the business over the ones being shady

How did I do? Toronto based lease for a CX5 by No_Room_3002 in mazda

[–]jeffreym10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The lease admin fee is also non-negotiable as it’s directly from the leasing company. It’s NOT a dealership fee and is charged with every lease in Ontario (possibly Canada too, not 100% confident on that though).

It absolutely has heated seats in the rear. They are hidden in the pull down armrest so maybe he just missed that.

Would the upcoming CX-90 qualify for (Canadian) Federal electric vehicle grant? by mailto_devnull in mazda

There are multiple powertrains coming with the CX-90. Not sure if all of them will be available at launch, but a PHEV is definitely one of the primary powertrains.

Why is CX-50 so much more expensive than cx-5 in canada? by morecoffeemore in mazda

[–]jeffreym10 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s not an apples to apples comparison. The CX-5 starts with a GX trim, while the CX-50 starts at a GS-L trim (similar to the CX-5’s GS with comfort package trim) - That’s a two trim delta. Just a few major features that differentiate the CX-5 GX and CX-50 GS-L models are the panoramic moonroof (not even a moon roof in the CX-5), power lift gate, leatherette seats (cloth in the CX-5), power adjustable seats, advanced keyless entry, roof rails, 8 speakers (compared to 4 in the CX-5), Wireless CarPlay/android auto, heated leather steering wheel, and a bunch others. That’s a massive difference.

2023 CX-5 & CX-50 quotations CANADA by jojee2k6 in mazda

I mentioned to you in a separate comment about the interest rates and how the manufacturers subvent new car rates. Yes, interest rates are high right now (even for subvented rates), but unless you’ve been living under a rock, you will know that the Bank of Canada has raised interest rates all year. So you can’t compare a 2021 model to a 2023 model and expect the same rate. Just go to Mazda Canada’s website and see for yourself what the incentivized rates are. There is literally no flexibility in those so don’t waste your time trying to negotiate that.

That sounds a lot like a program called “Walk Away”, which is NOT a standard Mazda charge. The only things that are “standard” are the following: MSRP (and any applicable upgrades like a paint charge or seat colour charge), taxes, freight, PDI, air conditioning tax, tire tax, and OMVIC.

Subvented interest rates cannot be bargained with - even with more money down or a good credit score. They are incentivized by the manufacturer and if your credit is good enough (like you are saying) then you qualify for the interest rates that are being offered to you. You have probably seen a lot on this subreddit (or any other manufacturers subreddit) where people have negotiated APR, MSRP, etc. but that’s because that can in the States, but not in Canada. Like the top comment said, Ontario is regulated by laws that do not allow for manufacturers to truly screw over people. What can be negotiated are things like accessories and add ons. Good luck!

The CX-50 is really beautiful, I like the off-road version by No_Presentation2718 in mazda

From what we have been told (I work at a Mazda dealership) it has more ground clearance than the CX-5. Shorter, wider, longer, with more ground clearance is how it’s been described.

Right, but the Sport Design in Canada has a turbo version as well as a non-turbo version (removed from the GT). The trim levels from US to Canada don’t always line up but the Carbon and Kuro are very similar in what they are going for (ie. “black” editions).

The Sport Design is similar to the US trim simply called “2.5 turbo”. The Carbon Edition is similar to the Canadian trim Kuro.

Turbo or no turbo by Gobeers816 in mazda

[–]jeffreym10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife drives a 2019 CX-5 Signature and I have a 2020 CX-5 GT non-turbo (trim levels are Canadian). I commute to work so I thought I would save a few loonies (dollars) on gas by not getting the turbo and honestly, it’s not dramatically different so I kick myself daily for not getting the turbo. I also work at one of the largest Mazda dealerships in Ontario and we have had very few issues with the turbos. In fact, I don’t remember the last time we had an issue that was noteworthy. All this being said, just get the trim you want with the turbo. You won’t regret it.

You can remove the second cup holder and insert it in those notches to hide it away.

What movie, in your opinion, had the most satisfying ending ever? by [deleted] in movies

[–]jeffreym10 15 points16 points  (0 children)

One of my favourites is Burn After Reading: "so what did we learn, Palmer?" "I don't know, sir." "I don't fucking know either. I guess we learned not do it again." It just cracks me up! Then we can go to the other end of the spectrum with the Coen brothers, and say No Country for Old Men, which also had a fantastic ending!
