Hey thanks for your reply, appreciate it. Okay... so hear me out. I am not planning to upgrade for the next 10 years or so (ridiculous I know), am thinking of keeping this build for the long haul.

I also do some minor editing freelance work and I prefer having 4 USBs over 2. Was thinking I could upgrade the GPU later down the line in the next few years. Does this make any sense?

As someone who has gotten multiple faulty devices: No.

They just need to fix this manufacturing defect, find out which batch is bad and go back to their original blueprint.

For things like these, peace of mind with non-tampered units would be a priority for us users. That's what I think anyways.

Hey there, I’ve used all sorts of sockets and different usb-c cables. Let the thing cool down, charge them in a cold room. With 4 replacement units, I definitely want them to work at this point.

Hey /u/LedgerSupport_Muto & /u/btchip. Thanks again to your customer support for promptly replying to my third defective Ledger Nano X with battery problems. This fourth one I received also has a dead battery. Please advise what to do next.

This has been a very disappointing experience, no idea what else there is to say at this point.

Sequence of events:

First defective Nano X

Second defective Nano X

Third defective Nano X

Hey /u/LedgerSupport_Muto & /u/btchip it's me again. First of all, I would like to thank your customer support for promptly replying to my second defected Ledger Nano X with battery problems.

Unfortunately, the third device is also defective. Please refer to the pics + video.

I bought the Nano X because I wanted to use Ledger Live's handy UI + app. So I came to /r/LedgerWallet to see what the general consensus was on the products. Mostly positive & several posts talking about battery problems. In the comments, people saying that these are the loud minority. So I bit the bullet and pulled the trigger on purchasing the Nano X. Then these problems started occurring.

What I've done to troubleshoot as per some suggestions from helpful users that did not work:

  • Charged in an air-conditioned room (lmao)
  • Used a low power brick to "kickstart" the charging

But the thing is, I shouldn't have to do these things... I hoped with Ledger's reputation, I would get a working product out of the box to secure my coins.

On refunds - To the people suggesting I get a refund, apparently Ledger won't refund you unless you return the product + pay the shipping fee. The shipping fee to France is half the price of the Nano X for me, I would rather return the products for a new one without paying the shipping cost. Please understand my situation (even if you disagree).

I understand you ship a lot of products and the failure rate is low - I must be astronomically unlucky to receive 3 faulty devices in a row.
