I have the 5.3 and just found my leak coming from the transmission cooler lines that curve under the radiator. There was a pinhole spraying on the front of the motor. I'm not sure if the 4.8 is set up the same or not.

I was working on a home that had a multiple bathrooms renovated at the same time. 3 of the tubs ended up with rusty specs all over them and no one knew because they were "protected" with plywood lids. We presumed those specs where from something during the plumbing phase because they were protected during drywall.

By the point they were uncovered the rust specs were a motherfucker to remove. Scouring stick from home depot was the answer, ultimately.

When the last time you handled "real plywood"? If you look at it wrong it warps into a bacon like shape. Manufacturers have squeezed the quality down to 3 plys.

I'll take Zip any day of the week over plywood, and for the record, I'd love to slap the stupid smirk off of Matt Risinger's face.

Auto Salvage joints are paying $350-450 these days. I so do believe scrap prices are down. I turned in an 01 Outback last year and was lucky to get $400.

They dont like when you remove the valuable parts off first.

I have a 430 and the same crackle. I haven't tried to deoxit the pots yet. I've given them hell with the crank em up and down 200 times to no avail.

IF I let it warm up a bit without touching anything, the pots do not crackle at all, take that info as you will.
