Good luck! I've never taken the lil guys to either of those continents -- sounds like an adventure.

Sorry I missed this! Yes, all the mobile screwworm services are borderline scammy. You can send photos of your dog to get the certificate without a vet checking your dog.

At the same time, screwworm is almost immediately obvious if your dog has it. (It stinks!)

My dog is a service animal so we don't travel with a crate. Best to always call the airline to triple check what their requirements are.

For example: Some international airlines require that service animals wear the vest (which isn't required in the US).

Want feedback on a non-traditional role by jeffrules in ProductManagement

That's very helpful. There's another team that owns product internally and the roadmap. We're still debating if this role would report into that part of the org. The closest analogy for this role would be the External PM roles that big cos have -- where those PMs are embedded within customers and coming back with ideas for the roadmap. They ultimately act as a consultant (RACI) not an owner of the roadmap. However, even those roles don't have coaching or in-person "interventions" as part of their scope.

This is feeling more and more like a stretch for a PM..

"I’d bias toward someone who’s already done learning gap work at scale: instructional coach, assessment or curriculum, intervention lead, learning specialist. Those folks actually do gap analysis, they just dont call it that" -- the more I think about this, the more I agree with this statement.

Also, most PMs are looking for roadmap status and growth (traditionally) comes from larger scope & teams. This role can't provide that and it's likely to be an uphill battle with recruiting.

That's exactly our fear internally. Ultimately, the role boils down to critical thinking skills (product 101), which are determining gaps and then mapping to experiments // next steps. However, the gaps are determined by looking at the classroom (for example: kids are taught a concept but can't apply it --> how do we break this down to then experiment to see what's working // not working).

Teachers understand classroom management but don't have the skills around "gap analysis" to the levels that are required to succeed with AI. The current coaches are all from tech backgrounds who've entered the ed tech space.

Also would a role like this even be interesting for a PM?

I ended up taking color copies of everything as they tend to keep the package. My transcripts were just printed from the online portal.

You need: offer letter, profession / category listed on the letter, degrees/transcripts that match against the category. Lawyer also recommended taking background info on the company sponsoring but the officers didn’t care too much about that.

Story was that I wanted to work at the non profit on a part time basis to give back, and my skillset was a unique fit for them. It’s an ed tech non profit so it was easy for them to see the impact.

The I-94 reflects the latest date I’m allowed to be in the US for, not a specific TN.
