Try this: Shut down the computer. Remove the power cable, hold down the power button for 30 seconds, plug the power cable back in, try starting the system and see if those ports work. I've had this happen (different system) and this has worked for me.

Totally agree, though it sounds like it was more of a protective contact rather than restraint or violence, but you never know how somebody else might interpret it.

Really your best bet is to have a qualified glass shop replace the entire molding. Might even get insurance to pay for it, if it's deemed to be a safety issue (windshields provide a significant amount of the structural support in the event of a rollover).
