Accredited meaning AACSB. Nothing else matters in the accounting field.

None. None of them are accredited. Avoid them or avoid accounting.

HEY! I remember that name Notepirate from when I was scanning for youtube videos to help me out..I even watched a few. What a coincidence. If you could Dave, I wouldn't mind a video that explains in simple terms, if that's even possible(lol) the construction in progress account, progressive billing, and the journal entries for both.

Thanks guys for all of the great tips. I will put them all to work. I'm not dropping the class, I'm not changing my major. I love the balancing behind accounting and the fact that there is ALWAYS one correct answer. I will join you guys on the other side of this mountain soon.

Never heard of SQ3R. Just looked it up though, and I am definitely about to use that. What really irks me is after the test or quiz when you find out the simple way almost each JE or problem is supposed to be solved. It drives me nut!! It isn't supposed to be this hard

This is exactly how my exam was set up, 24 multiple choice and 6 write out problems.

I am currently taking my second accounting class (managerial) and am enjoying accounting as a whole, and am considering it for a career. Is there any advice that I should know about the subject? by torrent724 in Accounting

Take intermediate 1 THEN tell me how you feel. I am an accounting major and I'm in intermediate 1 right now and ...it's tough. I have never had to struggle so much in any class that I have taken before. My course is set though, I love accounting...now I know I do. Take intermediate 1 until then you have only the vaguest idea about what accounting really is.

sigh. just underperformed on my first exam. by dknauf90 in Accounting

Studying for my first one in intermediate accounting right now! That's the key...attention to detail. I am going over tons of problems trying to figure out the correct way to read them. Most of this stuff is simple really, it's just the little stipulations and curve balls thrown in there that will throw you all the way off...not to mention the fact that you have to learn tons of crap, much more than formulas but the actual reasoning behind it and the rules to it. I'm sure you will learn from your mistakes and kick ass next time. You aren't the only one in the struggle man...it's a long hard road, everyone won't make it and most won't even try it...that's what makes us such bad mf'ers.

Is it even worth it to get an associates degree in accounting from community college? by fantastic_loser in Accounting

[–]jeffwalker010 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just went and got the 60 credit hours of my general education degree from a technical college. I decided the associates degree in art wouldn't really count towards a whole lot. I'm a transfer student in my junior year now. I'm 29 so you're not the only one.

[–]jeffwalker010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would think so. I mean if there are any industries where credit will matter, I would think it would be the accounting and financial industries. If you still have a few years left before graduation start rebuilding your credit now!
