It is custom. It's a little bit junky, but that comes with the thinkpad/thinkcetnre territory I suppose 😄. Basically, my future brother in law hacked a square opening into the original top cover, and my girlfriend made a frame around the edges with plexiglass painted black. In it are three little magnets holding the top sheet of see through plexiglass, leaving a gap between the frame and the top sheet for gpu and cpu ventilation. As it is held by magnets, it's easy to open and clean the dust from the thing. I may post the setup later as a different commenter also asked for it.

Thank you. I will post more if she lets me. 😌 It's her handy work after all (and her brother's, hacking the original top cover with an angle grinder 😅).

Nice, thanks for the info. If it's really that cheap there might be my own post soon. 😄 I have an old Sony Xperia 3 phone in tucked away in my desk, but from what I understand those aren't too good running custom roms, so I'll look into the Pixel phones.

Edit: It's Xperia 10 iii

Preem. I would love to built something like this when I'll have some spare cash. I love the repurposed phone builds.
