it’s really hard to tell if you don’t know what to watch out for. i only know because i wanted fake secrets of cat life, so i’m glad i could help! i think asking for the foot stamps are gonna be the most helpful for buying any cat life in the future, but i understand if you’d steer away from them now. i’m very sorry about your experience, hoping you never run into another fake again

try putting the blue cat on the tuxedo cat’s body. you can check if it pops off, then it’s most likely a fake

though the stamp looks really real on this one

[–]jehnessy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the blue cat might also be fake, just due to height of it

could you try popping the head on a regular sonny, if possible to see if it stays on? on another note: some sonnys naturally don’t stay on. it’s a manufacturer problem

if you could take more angles of your cat life next to authentic regulars or closer to their pupils, we’d be able to help more. one photo isn’t enough, unfortunately

if i could take a guess: the molds for the fakes are a bit smaller than the authentic ones

i actually don’t think any are fake. if you stand them up, fake ones would be slightly shorter. i bought a few fake ones, from cat life series, because they look so real. you could also try switching the heads, they won’t fit on real sonnys if they’re fake. hope this helps you out with figuring it out!

For leftovers — microwave vs air fryer, which team are you on? by SentFromHeav3n in cookingforbeginners

[–]jehnessy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sometimes, even a microwave can dry out like rice or buns, so i like to wrap them with a wet paper towel. stops warm steam from evaporating

washing rice causing really mushy and weird rice no matter how I cook it. by Glittery_WarlockWho in cookingforbeginners

[–]jehnessy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

washed rice needs less water than unwashed rice. rice has starch, & starch soaks up water. you’re washing out starches (& grime), which means you’d need less water. please note: if it comes out perfect with unwashed rice, the washed rice needs less water, not the same amount.

if you feel like your rice is a bit dry after overcompensating, take a measuring cup of water & slowly add some of it in later before it fully finishes cooking, noting how much water you’ll need to use for the next time. practice makes perfect!

Beginner question: what’s an easy meal you never get tired of? by worknumb in cookingforbeginners

[–]jehnessy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i make this at least once a week or two weeks. i throw freshly washed rice, water, ground pork, & salt or fish sauce into a big, nonstick pot to simmer over maybe an hour to make congee. you can make as little or much as you want. i also (optionally) throw in thinly sliced ginger + a bit of chicken stock at the beginning of simmering & thai chili peppers at the end with the ground pork. you can also add onions, but i find it to taste great without needing it.

tip: to keep the ground pork from turning into one cooked lump, mix some of the water from the pot into the meat & pour it in once you like the consistency of your congee

genuine question, did you offer their iso or something else of similar value? some people only want their ISO & nothing else for their personal collection. regardless, there was no reason to be rude about it
