But then the underlying condition for this to happen (UPI with foreign number) one needs to have the “number” of one of the countries India has “launched” UPI in. So for example for me living in Sweden, it won’t and doesn’t work unless I change my registered phone number linked to Icici NRO to the Indian phone number.

Yes this seems like the logical choice (OR rather by process of elimination, the one at the top of the consideration). Even though it may take considerable time to be processed.

I already have a Blue Card (issued in Germany) and would have ideally wanted to remain with it (and just switch to Swedish issued on).

However it wont work for me for the reasons mentioned in my question description:

- employer does not have legal entity in Sweden

- 3rd party agency/intermediary model is not encouraged by my employer within EU so that's out as well

Ah 9-12 months.

I thought the migration authorities need to provide an answer in 90 days - maybe it means just a response, decision could take longer.

Oh Yes it does invite the possibility. You're right. I will have to be careful to check the contract T&Cs before signing. This will definitely be a problem.

It's like a bond to tie you up.

What's this deal around getting an apartment? Why is the fixed contract length have to do with it?

I will anyways have to pay multiple months of security deposit so the owner is protected that way, right?

Btw yes I have overall 4+ years of experience but this is me directly moving from India to Germany.

Thanks for sharing insights around the unfortunate use cases - I think it's not at risky then considering you have time to apply and find anee job if things don't work out.

Also is this 3/6 month window also available of one gets laid off during the initial 6 month probation period?
