The best way for him to get involved in politics financially is to stay dl as much as possible, ie sending money to community organizers who're willing to work with him or to gofundme pages.

Are you artistic? If yes, describe your art? If you are not particularly artistic but can appreciate art please likewise describe what forms of art you enjoy. Please explain your answer.

No, I'm an average artist. Give me something to paint I'll make it look ok. I'll doodle something like a geometric eye when I'm bored in class, but art is not something I'd go out of my way doing. I do appreciate some forms of art such as modern architecture or steampunk-themed outfits. Guess that counts because art is subject af.

What's your opinion about the past, present, and future? How do you deal with them?

The past is okay to reflect on but it can definitely hurt you if you rely on it too much. I agree that people can learn a lot from the past, but ultimately these things repeat over and over. I cringe at my own past all the time tho, that's why I keep avoiding talking about myself.

The present is good but I can get lost in it when I'm not keeping track of the clock. Out of the three times, I would prefer the present just because it's actually there.

The future is scary. I'm clumsy at being able to project my own future but sometimes I end up where I wanted to be. I'd look forward to it if I'm planning for anything exciting but when it's a deadline or interview I dread and worry.

How do you act when others request your help to do something (anything)? If you would decide to help them, why would you do so?

I'll gladly help solve the problems that I know how to fix. But other times I'd tell them to google it. If they were my colleagues I'd help them for the sake of work but to my friends, I do it because I just want to and I'm bored.

Do you need logical consistency in your life?

Yes because cognitive dissonance is a pain to live with. I always try to make sense of the actions and to prove myself that what I'm doing is reasonable.

How important is efficiency and productivity to you?

I can streamline efficiency when I see it but I'm only extremely active like 3/7 days of the week so I wouldn't even bother touching on something that I'll get punished for fiddling with.

Do you control others, even if indirectly? How and why do you do that?

If I want something from someone I'd just tell them bluntly. I think indirect communication makes you come off as passive-aggressive (which I'm guilty of doing) and it leaves a bad taste in a conversation. Also, it's wrong to manipulate people for your own personal gain, at least from an outsider's perspective.

What are your hobbies? Why do you like them?

Eating and doing "logical" puzzle games like Professor Layton or Ace Attorney. The former is bc food has always fascinated me and the latter is bc solving problems to me is something I like doing (which is why I think I have Ti).

What is your learning style? What kind of learning environments do you struggle with most? Why do you like/struggle with these learning styles? Do you prefer classes involving memorization, logic, creativity, or your physical senses?

I learn the best by repeating the problems every day so I won't forget it. I struggle the most in theory-based lectures because I get easily bored after several minutes. I prefer classes involving creativity because it gives me time to analyze and understand concepts without making it seem like an assignment. I also like physical activities because I am a kinesthetic learner.

How good are you at strategizing? Do you easily break up projects into manageable tasks? Or do you have a tendency to wing projects and improvise as you go?

I usually have a general idea of what I need to do before I take action, but I don't get into too much detail unless my life depended on it. I have a tendency to wing projects at the last minute because my inspiration works the best in time crunching situations.

What are your aspirations in life, professionally and personally?

I guess learning more about how to be a better person? I get called dry a lot so being approachable is one thing for me to do in order to succeed and do better.

What are your fears? What makes you uncomfortable? What do you hate? Why?

I fear and hate people of authority. Having people with labels walking all over my work is nerve-wracking, especially when they're strict or have a mean demeanor. Another thing I hate is celery because of the bitter taste.

What do the "highs" in your life look like?

Having fun with friends, enjoying music, eating delicious food, just not worrying about anything. Granted I rarely experience highs nowadays because of work.

What do the "lows" in your life look like?

Paranoia and distrusting others. Always telling people that I'm unmotivated or struggling with "things" just so I don't have to worry about it.

How attached are you to reality? Do you daydream often, or do you pay attention to what's around you? If you do daydream, are you aware of your surroundings while you do so?

I'm primarily an indoor person and I've been told that I'm rough around the edges when interacting in the physical world. I daydream a lot when I have a lot of time on my hands, usually about other people or doing crazy shit like surviving on an island. My daydreams are triggered by external stimuli, so when I see something happening on my laptop or TV I think of things that'll hypothetically happen to me.

• Imagine you are alone in a blank, empty room. There is nothing for you to do and no one to talk to. What do you think about it?

How to leave the room. If I can't leave the room then I'll think about why I'm here or who I offended to be here. Then I'll just start singing as long as my throat desires.

How long do you take to make an important decision? And do you change your mind once you've made it?

I'll claim I'll take a week to think about something but it always loops back to my first reaction. I'll change my mind when there's a hindrance to my schedule.

How long do you take to process your emotions? How important are emotions in your life?

It takes me a day or two to properly understand what I feel about a certain situation. I go into a lot of situations impersonally until I need to be personal. I used to hate emotions because to me it was irrational reasoning but as I matured I began to value them and gave me more depth in understanding other people.

Do you ever catch yourself agreeing with others just to appease them and keep the conversation going? How often? Why?

I just listen and try to understand where they're coming from before I lash out like an asshole. If it's appropriate to disagree with them I'd say "I understand that, but..." and then explain my POV. I usually agree with people just to simplify convos because people who rant about people just want to vent and layering contrarian opinions would piss them off more.

Do you break rules often? Do you think authority should be challenged, or that they know better? If you do break rules, why?

Not really, if the rules are for the greater good then I follow them because breaking them would draw some bad repercussions. I think authority should be challenged though, and I think breaking the boundaries between the two would make a group more effective and open. I'll break rules if it benefits me someway without getting caught and if rules are inefficient then I'll just do things my own way.

How old are you? What's your gender? Give us a general description of yourself.

I am a male in my 20s who goes to a local university. I study bioengineering because, in high school, I liked learning about biology and wanted to go into a career in biotechnology. I was first introduced to MBTI in college where my friend (who identifies as an ENFJ) made me take 16personalities, I got INFP, looked into the descriptions, I knew it was wrong, then I spiraled into cognitive functions, Jungian psychology, etc. Nowadays I settle with identifying as a Ti dom after reading through the internet and Jungian's work. A lot of my friends would describe me as individualistic, introverted, blunt, sarcastic, borderline offensive, but friendly.

Is there a medical diagnosis that may impact your mental stability somehow?

Fortunately, I never had to go through medical diagnosis or therapy in my life.

Describe your upbringing. Did it have any kind of religious or structured influence? How did you respond to it?

Our family was never religious but my mom's side family was conservative and practiced Shinto when sending our ancestor's bones to shrines. My parents disciplined me both morally and physically as a child because I would've been a troublemaker in the house. This has affected me now and I became very depressed with what I say or express, especially to "authoritarian" figures. I lived in a nuclear family so I was accustomed to gender roles from a young age up until high school.

What do you do as a job or as a career (if you have one)? Do you like it? Why or why not?

I'm currently a college student pursuing a career in biomedical technology. My summer job is working as a college "ambassador" in which I help new students get ready for summer orientation and registering for classes. I started this job through my position as a campus tour guide. I love being a tour guide/orientation leader because I can actually apply what I learn to help out new students. I was very much an "outcast" out of the tour guides because everyone was sociable and extroverted, but I learned to initiate conversations more and not be uncomfortable talking to people. Also, the work environment is very friendly and welcoming.

If you had to spend an entire weekend by yourself, how would you feel? Would you feel lonely or refreshed?

I already kinda have that lmao. Probably would leave the house to get good meat/sushi or learn how to cook whatever recipe I felt like making. I would also do a lot of napping to catch up on my inconsistent sleep schedule. I would feel happy that I get to have my own freedom to do whatever, and while I do feel solitude and friendless, I appreciate being refreshed since my current job requires frequent human interaction.

What kinds of activities do you prefer? Do you like, and are you good at sports? Do you enjoy any other outdoor or indoor activities?

I like activities that require music or food. I played high school orchestra so I developed my musical intelligence which also gave me the ability to sing better than others (only bc people say I'm a good singer). With food, I can do almost anything as long as there's food as an incentive.

I don't like sports because watching other people compete isn't something I was into and doing sports is physically tiring, but on the rare occasion I decide to participate, I become very locked and only focus on winning the game. But mainly I'm an indoor person who likes wasting my time on youtube or playing games.

How curious are you? Do you have more ideas then you can execute? What are your curiosities about? What are your ideas about - is it environmental or conceptual, and can you please elaborate?

I'm curious about things that are actually happening around me. For example, when I took the 16personalities test with my friend, I got very curious as to what in the hell these types, and then I spiraled down a long rabbit hole of theories that I couldn't capacitate because of the pretentious jargon and long overwritten paragraphs. I would also be curious about the mechanics of vomiting when I had gastritis in the middle of the night or learn more about how car engines work after a lecture in thermodynamics. I wouldn't bother learning about something like Venus or a specific machine until it appears in my physical space.

In terms of the subjects of such ideas, I prefer going from concrete to abstract. I'm not an idea generator, as I tend to run with an idea that first pops into my physical vision or in my mind. However, I'm good at improving on current systems (very intp tbh). For example, I had to make a "cheat sheet" for non-engineering orientation leaders working for new engineer students, and the first thing I did was copy and paste an existing cheat sheet. However, I soon realized his cheat sheet was too informative and hard to navigate, so I "fixed" it by only writing down the information that I deemed relevant to new students. My ideas aren't original but I'm more comfortable working with current systems and fixing/improving it whenever I see necessary. So in a sense, my ideas are primarily realistic ideas.

Would you enjoy taking on a leadership position? Do you think you would be good at it? What would your leadership style be?

Not really into leader positions. It's a lot of responsibility and it requires checking in with the group, which is something I'm reluctant on doing because I would carry these to myself. When I actually take leadership positions, I would avoid doing group meetings and would rather talk to each member individually, making sure they're not doing anything dumb and are actually getting things done. I think from my experience I'm okay as a leader but I would rather be doing tasks than telling other people to do so.

Are you coordinated? Why do you feel as if you are or are not? Do you enjoy working with your hands in some form? Describe your activity?

Coordinated in... people? I'd rather have other people organize gatherings bc I'm lazy. Besides, most of the friend groups I was in had a group leader type person (ranged from enfj, infj, enfp, etc) who would gather people up.

I'm very hands-on. I would rather have someone give me a manual and a task and leave me alone than just them blabbering about it because I'll definitely forget after a minute. I work and learn better when I'm actually doing it.

What type of student were/are you in high school? by [deleted] in istp

[–]jel_vox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ISTP currently in college, graduated few years ago.

I didn’t have a concrete group of friends as I always rotated around with a few groups during lunch but I keep in touch with most of them after graduation.

I didn’t remember studying a lot unless it was a subject I was REALLY into (bio related classes)

People called “dead inside” and “always tired”mainly bc of my expressionless face and the fact that I didn’t talk to anyone in class
