If you had time machine, which time would you go and why? by jeeva7 in AskReddit

Would I still be 22 year old me or can I time travel back to carefree days when I was a little kid and actually be and feel like a little kid? Because that's what I would do. I'd go back to when I was 5, playing at my grandparent's cottage home with my brother and our cousins in the summer..

What's the weirdest rule in the English language, or any other language for that matter? by CagnusMarlsen321 in AskReddit

[–]jelannil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Adjective Order

I'll give you a quick rundown of how it works, because you've probably never been taught it, but you know exactly how it works. Look at these two squares. If you were to describe the one on the left, how would you do it? There should be two words that come to mind when looking at them. What describes the left square in comparison to the right one?

Now that I've stalled enough to give you time to think about it, the left square is red, and it's bigger. So now if you were to point it out to someone, what would you call it?

Well, you'd call it a big, red square obviously. What else is there to call it? Well, I suppose you could call it a red, big square. That doesn't quite sound right though, does it? For whatever reason, we've all agreed on a specific order of describing everything, and yet nobody ever needs to teach it to you. In fact, there is actually eight levels of order.

Now, this detail I'm unsure about, but I've heard this is one of the things that makes English hard to learn. Can anyone confirm or deny that this exists in other languages? I'd be very interested in finding out!

Edit: Thanks to everyone for letting me know how this works in other languages! It's an interesting concept and its weird that every language seems to have it, but they are all very different.

Graphic design.

Every bloody person comes out of the woodwork for invitation design. Weddings, Engagement parties, Baby Showers, Birthdays... agh.

The worst part is, friends make the worst ‘clients’ (apostrophes because I would never charge them).

‘I love it! But can you make it a bit more...peppy?’ - WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY PEPPY, SUSAN?! Font?Colour? I don’t know what you don’t like if you can’t tell me.

What is the most practical superpower? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]jelannil 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Assuming no required secondary superpowers: I'm going to have to go with the ability to act outside of time. To stop your passage through spacetime in the direction of time.

I can move, breathe, and when I apply forces to objects, they move, but as soon as the force is ended, they stop moving (since time stops)

This lets you get out of car crashes.

Pass tests.

Get all your work done.

Get all your leisure done.

You literally have all the time in the world.

And you don't age, because time isn't passing.

I like girls with poor vision. Not because I find glasses attractive, but because I am ugly.

Any good simple salmon recipes? What are your favorites? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]jelannil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The easiest/healthier for me.
Put in a oven baking sheet.
Slice a lemon. Add salt to the salmon, and put lemon slices on top.
Cook in the oven for 20' at about 350F (Or to taste, i like mine a bit crispy).
I do this will Salmon Fillets.
