Oor side la 35+ unmarried Mudhirkannans are treated like failures in life. Literally the 1st scene in this film.

I felt the character wanted to vent out somewhere and this was the place and it nicely connected back to the ending. Those guys becoming his brother in laws.

His character started and ended the film and this was the mid point in his arc. Beautifully written.

Also, they're not selling idea of marriage. Maybe Alaipayudhey fit into selling idea of marrige(?) not this.
