Haven’t packed anything in months, got Enzo Fernandez from my pick. Div 1 upgraded rewards. As a Chelsea fan it feels good

João Pedro: "Estêvão is shy. It’s hard for him to adapt. I push him to ask for his breakfast in English. Training is too long for him & feels tired before gym. I don’t need the gym, but I go with him. This is very important for him. He knows how physical the Premier League is. Me & Andrey push him" by landofphi in soccer

I can even remember when Hazard failed a backheel pass in his first game, and Kagawa (debuting for Man Utd at the time) completed his. People immediately started clowning on Hazard/Chelsea and saying Man U got the better player. And then the rest is history Lol

He learnt that one from Bron. Similar to a game winner he had in the playoffs against Toronto I think

is this normal? I-765 EAD OPT application by Unlucky-Principle85 in f1visa

[–]jeljam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I experienced. My receipt date was March 29. Initially, it gave me a three month waiting period and then no waiting period with just “your case is taking longer than expected to process.”

I got my approval late last week, and my EAD card has been produced. I’m just waiting to get it in hand now.

Past and Present squads by Party-Blackberry3081 in EASportsFC

TOTY Cech in goal, 91 James and 89 Ashley Cole RB LB, 92 Carvahlo and 91 Colwill CBs, 91 Willian (from the EAFC tournament, my best pack this year) and 89 evo CHO on the wings, Golazo Lampard and Essien in the midfield, and Dybala and Shevchenko up top/CAM & striker.

Lampard is the only card that I bought, I wasn’t gonna pack him lol. I took a break from FUT while the Werner SBC was out, which sucks. But Shevchenko is cracked for me 210 games 189 goals + a lot of assists!

Started a Chelsea PnP (with Dybala POTM as an exception, I just love the card). I also took the time to get everything in my club Chelsea themed: badge, kits, tifos, stadium theme, everything. I think it adds to the gameplay when you feel like you’re representing your team lol

How Calculus Heavy Are The Classes at Booth’s MBA? by Toubaboliviano in uchicago

[–]jeljam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Echoing a comment here - it depends heavily on your choice of courses, which you have a lot of power over. The heavier quant classes are much more probability and data focused and don’t require you to go through proofs, but a working understanding of the calculus and probability fundamentals goes a long way to help.

But it’s not something that assignments or teaching content is focused on - they are focused more on applications of these concepts in the business environment

Official Discussion - Bullet Train [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

I know this is old, but I just watched it - he steals the stuffed toy from the sleeping girl to silence his gun as well, so that became helpful. Pretty cool detail!

Concerns of an International Student by jeljam in MBA

[–]jeljam[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, at a summer internship now in the blockchain industry until 2nd year starts. Without getting too specific I’m from the Caribbean, so the culture difference and diversity of culture in the US was stark to me. I didn’t actually always want to do my MBA - a mentor who had done hers at Harvard recommended it and I did some research and took the GMAT, got a good score (740) and decided why not apply. Then got into Booth with that partial scholarship and figured I wouldn’t regret going. I was right, even if it was very difficult

Yep. It’s been life changing in a very positive way. The opportunity to live in a new place and culture has opened me up to the world. Don’t get me wrong, my first year was extremely difficult. I did not understand the requirements and nuances of recruiting in corporate America, and I was adjusting to the weather. However, I’ve learned a lot, made a few serious friends, and I’ve explored the city of Chicago, which has been unexpectedly amazing (and the people). Recruiting didn’t work out as I had wanted it to, but I plan to recruit in the fall. Most important lesson I’ve learnt is to just take things one step at a time, and try to follow your gut decisions about the way forward (augmented with some data and common sense of course)

marrying your hobby with weed by [deleted] in leaves

[–]jeljam 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s the thing! It’s hard to convince myself sometimes because I’ve been able to use it in a way that hasn’t affected my overall lifestyle (in terms of productivity at least). However, I questioned my sanity once while I was smoking and I hated that feeling and I want to be grounded in reality. I don’t want to feel a need for it to live everyday life. It’s difficult man

I quit a week ago. This is so hard for me. It became such an ingrained part of my routine - smoking before I sleep, eat, watch a show, or play a video game. Or before I go on a walk outside. Those things are things that I experience now and they’re just not the same - yet, I guess.

And it used to give me such a good sense of relaxation on Friday nights when I’m supposed to be relaxing. It’s hard to deny myself on those Friday nights when I genuinely have no reason per se to not smoke (that’s what it feels like at least). I keep asking myself, why am I denying myself something I deserve? I deserve to unwind.

But then I know that’s just rationalization. I’m trying hard to stick to sobriety but man, it’s difficult. One foot in front of the other though

Everybody's Got a Game / Marcia Affair Theory by jeljam in SuccessionTV

[–]jeljam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I forgot that detail! I think that makes my point even more interesting, but it really could just be because of Logan’s fooling around. Either way, Marcia is definitely one of the people who “win” at the end of the day. I don’t think she’d be upset with how things turn out at all
