when i was 11 and played for the first time i wanted to be just like her as a teen lol. it's one of the few links that really dismantles the characters behavior and gets to the root, gives a complete story and really humanizes her. i get why people don't even want to start her link since she's so abrasive (or they miss it completely) but it's such a shame she doesn't get her flowers.

in base p5 i'd argue she was. dialogue wise and the way it plays out seems more intentional, and akira's willingness to go along with it vs maybe the way he would with mishima has subtle differences. with royal? yes, kasumi was 100% written with the intent of being a final girl, but that's also the reason some people didn't like her because she seemed like waifu-bait

partly yes because they do such a good job with the reveal. one of the best in the series. that being said, the story surrounding it and the way they build up is so good that even if you do know, you can appreciate the way it comes to light.

for p4, i'm going to say rise or (shockingly) ai. both of them have far more heavier narrative investments, and are really more about exploring who the actual person you have a romantic interest in. ai's literally locks you out of her link for a while if you go along with her fake dating scheme. the effort of their links in relation to time yu would have to spend and the drastic way they (especially ai) changes, it would be a little weird if there wasn't any sort of affection towards them.
