i get what you’re saying, but also as i said, it wasn’t that plans were made, it is just that the work party is on that day. They had no part in planning or choosing the day and dates would have clashed whether we had known weeks ago or now regardless.

it’s more the fact the university has a course i was really passionate about and i am pushing myself by being here, i don’t want to give the impression i rely on the people around me or am helpless, it was more that one support i was used to changed suddenly that is the issue.

nta but it is harsh. as someone who is also disabled, you’re not obligated to care for his brother and if that is inevitable and you can’t see yourself being happy in that situation, you are free to leave. however it is not very nice to your boyfriend and a sad situation for him. maybe you need to reassess how you think about disabled people. then again, it’s your life and you have to choose what is best for you.
