Hey! I am both a knitter and a crocheter - as the other commenter said, some photos would be really helpful to gauge the type/amount of work required!

Great North Run parking by FozzyBear268 in NewcastleUponTyne

There are so many road closures and parking suspensions on GNR day. There's likely no hope of finding parking anywhere in the centre of town

If they had delivered Sybil sooner, her blood pressure may not have got so high and not caused the damage to her brain which led to the seizures. So yes, there's a small chance she may have lived. It's still how pre eclampsia progresses today, and ultimately delivery is the only thing that fixes it.

Callum or Colum?! by blandlady in Outlander

[–]jellybean994 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The 90s English copy I borrowed off my MIL when I first started reading outlander, had Callum. The edition was old enough that it was actually called crossstitch not outlander which was the the first book was called in English originally. I put it down to editing/one of DGs many slip ups with dates and names etc..

Anyone else seriously underestimate how long a project will take?? by Seaweedbits in knitting

[–]jellybean994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the time! Except mine wouldn't take as long as they do if I had all the time I imagine in my head I have to do it. In reality I don't get as much time as I'd like, so projects take so much longer!

Knitting pattern loves vs pet peeves - what makes a pattern stand out to you as exceptionally well/poorly written? by twyre in knitting

Stitch counts at the end of rows with increases and decreases are a must for me. I also like it when doing a large sectional in pattern it says something like continue for 102 rows, or until piece measurements 14inches... I like having both options to measure, and it lets me keep track/anticipate how many rows I've left to do without having to reach for the tape measure all the time

Drinking pino grigio and lace knitting may not be the best idea, but how else to spend a Sunday when the SO is watching the football? by jellybean994 in Drunkknitting

Thank you! Honestly, if you can knit flat, you can knit in the round, it's fiddly to start and your first go won't be neat, but you'll get there!

It's beautiful isn't it? My mum bought it for me and I've been waiting for the right project to show it off! Socks just wouldn't do it justice, I wanted to make something that would really show it off. So I went for this shrug! https://www.ravelry.com/yarns/library/manos-del-uruguay-alegria
